W220 S65 AMG
Farewell to my beloved W220 S600...
Gentlemen, as much as it pains me to do so, I had to part with my beloved and cherished 2005 S600 today. Don't ask me why, but trust me that it was absolutely necessary to sell the car.
I've had a great relationship with this vehicle and it brought me nothing but utter joy and happiness everytime I sat in the driver's seat. I've had his car for almost three year and have spent countless amounts of hours on cleaning and perfecting it to what it eventually became.
I believe that this is the only W220 S600 in the US that's running around with SL65 AMG turbochargers.
I just handed the keys to a big enthusiast who promised me to take care of her like I did, even offered for me to come out to CT (which I gladly rejected... )
March of 2011 - we got a W221 S65 coming home!

Car
Your car was surely a special one. Hopefully the guy will take good care of it (your car should have required background checks for the owner lol). Wish I could take it hahaha
Anyway, what color is your new AMG?

Oh damn, just after you'd put all that work into it!
So is it a 215 CL65 or a 221 S65 that's coming? Your post says one, the quoted version says the other...I assume the 'quoter' has edited your text.
After all that work you did I guess buying a 65 from the get go is probably easier...

WHAT!?!?!... I know that it was necessary to sell it but it truly saddens me that we probably won't see that car ever again. I can honestly say it was to most bad *** S600 or even W220 I have ever seen. To be honest I really wanted to buy it off of you but I was hoping for a little more time. Oh Well, Have fun with your S65!!

Best wishes Chris. You have been a pioneer around here, and I know that your new toy will be a BEAST.
Again, sorry to hear about it and I wish you the very best.
Good luck.

W220 S65 AMG
Hey guys just to be clear, I do not have a new car yet... like I said some time in March or early April just in time for the good weather. And maybe it was a little extreme to say it would be an S65 AMG... It can be any Mercedes-Benz with a V12 biturbo... so SL, CL, S and 600 or 65 AMG works for me.
Until the spring I'll be driving my lovely 2011 Toyota Corolla!

I really don't like when people say that to me... I'm not looking for "easier" and I could have traded my car in a long time ago and bought an S65 but instead I had a much better time modifying it how I wanted.

Sad to see that work of art be completed. I learned a lot about 600s and biturbos from you. Definitely an inspiration and very glad to see you are getting another biturbo - nothing else like them. I'll be curious about your reaction to them after extended period of driving. My dad's got a W220 S550 and I can never get used to it.
I'm still waiting on the suspension files. I really want to improve handling of my car and I have access to a SDS computer. Send over both files the amg and the one you friend modified from the SLS.

Hey Chris, it's really sad to see the S600 gone. I can honestly say it was one of the cleanest, most well-done (if I had to do it, I would have done it exactly as you did) S-Classes I've ever seen. But based on your car history and what's to come, I'm even more excited to see what's in store.
btw do you have the hi-res files of the pictures from that photoshoot? If so, would you mind emailing them to me to use as backgrounds? Let me know and I'll PM you my email.

From one 600 owner to another, I'm rather jealous. You had a mighty fine example of the breed, certainly the best W220 on this forum...you did a lot of modifications but they were extremely tasteful.
Like others have said you're a great asset to the forum We're just going to miss those great pictures!
