Angry Got Wrinkled today
Today was the day I planned to work on my car and clean it inside and out. I changed the oil, rotated the tires and parked it on the curb. I'm in Florida so cleaning your car mid-day is not a good idea. So I parked it on the street while I cleaned up all the tools and put away the oil pan and dirty towels.


My parents dropped in for a visit and after about two hours as they were going home, my dad backed into my car (Ford F150). Not a scratch on his bumper.

I'm the second owner and it’s never been in a crash. I wanted to make it to 150K without any scratches.

Monday I'm out looking for a good repair shop. I hope this damage is not too expensive. I do not want my car totaled. Here's the damage!

not sure what color that is, but your best bet might be a used door.

Why would you care if it's not too expensive if insurance will cover it? Unless the airbag popped, most likely it won't be a total loss.

I agree but I'm concerned it would cost more then the value of the car.

Something similar happened to my back panel, and it was not as bad as yours - still around $1k to fix. Yours is a bit deep, you may actually need a new door if they can't fix it.

You're probably going to have a new door. Before my dad's S430 was totaled, he was t-boned once before and it had a dent slightly deeper than that. I don't think the car is going to be considered totaled yet.
