Rear tire wear on 20"

For those of you on 20", do you have a quick wear on the REAR tires? I tried different tires (Falken, Nexxen, Hankook, etc) and find myself going through them with in 5000-7000 miles. PSI at 36, I check them regularly. Had the alignment done, and new suspension/shock. The front tires have NO ISSUES (255/35/20).
I run 275/30/20 on a Lorinser wheel for the rear. WTF, the tires are wearing out fast without any burn outs, hard corning, or irrational driving. Any ideas?

i got about 9K on the rears using Falken 452 in 245/35/20. my front's got about 15-16K them and i'll be replacing those this weekend. i think it's just a combination of being lowered, having a heavy car and softer rubber due to being a more performance oriented tire size.

I sure as hell do. Is there anything out there for camber adjustment on our cars. Front or rear?

What is the treadwear rating of the tires you are buying? It's a number followeld by letters, it will look like 140AA or 400AB . The higher the number the better the treadwear. Pick 20s with ratings over 400. Many are only 180-220

that tire should last almost twice as long as one rated 280

from tire rack:
"Treadwear Grades

UTQG Treadwear Grades are based on actual road use in which the test tire is run in a vehicle convoy along with standardized Course Monitoring Tires. The vehicle repeatedly runs a prescribed 400-mile test loop in West Texas for a total of 7,200 miles. The vehicle can have its alignment set, air pressure checked and tires rotated every 800 miles. The test tire's and the Monitoring Tire's wear are measured during and at the conclusion of the test. The tire manufacturers then assign a Treadwear Grade based on the observed wear rates. The Course Monitoring Tire is assigned a grade and the test tire receives a grade indicating its relative treadwear. A grade of 100 would indicate that the tire tread would last as long as the test tire, 200 would indicate the tread would last twice as long, 300 would indicate three times as long, etc.

The problem with UTQG Treadwear Grades is that they are open to some interpretation on the part of the tire manufacturer because they are assigned after the tire has only experienced a little treadwear as it runs the 7,200 miles. This means that the tire manufacturers need to extrapolate their raw wear data when they are assigning Treadwear Grades, and that their grades can to some extent reflect how conservative or optimistic their marketing department is. Typically, comparing the Treadwear Grades of tire lines within a single brand is somewhat helpful, while attempting to compare the grades between different brands is not as helpful."

steve - i have falken 255/30/20 fronts and 275/30/20 in rear, since u have the same tires almost.. i cant seem to figure out what tire would best look flush to the wheel well??

so ive lowered my car thinking ride comfort isnt that noticeable but i do have a wife that tends to steal my keys and shop for a day with her friends, so i raised it back to normal height... im satisfied with stock height on 20's and sometimes use sport 2.

in a nutshell - the tires look really funny low profile, what tire size make it look flush?!?!?!?!? like the wall thickness of tire

i think the typical tire size for a 20" staggered setup is 245/35 front and 275/30 rear. i run 9.5" on all 4 wheels with a more agressive offset which is why i chose a more narrow tire and a brand known to have more angled sidewalls to avoid rubbing. low profile tires will almost always look odd with a significant amount of wheel gap. maybe you can find a happy medium of lowering the car so that the tires don't look funny to you while still being driveable for your wife. my wife knows to raise the airmatic if she drives my car.

FYI....the falken 452s have a 300AA tread rating.

thanks steve for response, i actually bought these brabus mono6 1pc, they are 9.5 all around but i still wished that he had an aggresive offset.. the exact specs are 20x9.5 ET45 all around.. with ET45 offset, i was thinking 10mm or 15mm HR spacers, i know theyre trendy but hell, at least the car, wheels and spacers would be all german, thanks again man much appreciated, i will be gettin new set of tires soon.

edit: i do want to add, its lowered 1" but still scared about wifey cracking my front bumper when parking!!

255 30 is not the correct front size. 245 35 or 255 35 would close up the gap
