Bought a 2006 S500 Amg yesterday.
I traded in my 2003 S430 and got this Black 2006 S500 with Amg body and 34,500 miles. Any feedback from owners of the same car would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't call it an amg though, its just the sport body/wheel package.
Thanks for that clarification relative to the AMG name. I did'nt know whether or not to call it an AMG if it is just the sport body/wheel package.
The questons that I have are about reliability issues/problem areas and overall experience with this model.

should be as good as it gets.
I've only had minor issues with my 05 s500. The latest models tend to be the best reliability wise.
May still be wise to get an extended warranty

i thought the only difference from "sport packages" between S430 and S500 are only engine displacement and brakes???? of course 99-02, 03+ huge difference
from non-sport to sport package, would mainly be interior and exterior trim.. now i could see from going to s430/s500 sport/non-sport to any S600/S55/S65 amg could be a big difference but other than that bro you should be fine with reliability issues/problem areas - overall a sweet car and dont get me wrong, 34.5k miles!??!?!! ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!

So far I like the ride, the increase in power and the look more than the 2003 s430. The black with the light grey interior stands out to me. I'll be spending alot of time in the car with the owner's manual trying to figure out the upgraded command features.

Warranty
May still be wise to get an extended warranty
I got a 4 year, 48 month extended warranty that covers everything except normal wear and tear. I learned from the 2003 s430. I did'nt get an extended warranty with that and I had a few things repaired that were expensive to fix. I had to replace the front struts and I had the stuck in park problem with that. I used to hate taking that to the stealership. Now I'll be all set.
