Know Thy Fellow Forum Member - who are you? I'm...
Gentz-
So I'm 3mos new to youses guyses here, starting to settle in some.
10yrs in quattro forums, I've had some amazing experiences with some AMAZING folks from ALL OVER.
The experience I've found is made best by getting to know e/o some - tightens up the community, takes some of the anonymity out of it, and makes our time here more fun. We did this in my last forum and it notably enhanced things from there forward.
It starts with... signatures - might ya consider adding your name to your sig???
Nothing I hate more than trying to converse w/o someone only to have to refer to them as "Mr. Screen Name". Argh! We're all gents here, and should treat each other / act as such... throw your name in there! 8-)
Then... how about a quick reply here with some brief details?:
- Paul Krasusky, S600 Sport, 38, Tolland CT, 15yr commercial banker
- enabling wife, 3 kids @ 9/7/7
- major petrolhead, enjoy all things / any things combustion as long as they're not cheesey
- enjoy driving and the visceral thrill it can provide; have run der Nordschleife, Tail of The Dragon, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Carolina Motorsports Park, Roebling Road, autoX, iceX, drags, etc.
- been fortunate over the years for seat time in some amazing junk (Maybachs, GT2, GT3RS, 250 Lusso, DBS, etc. etc.) and alllllways looking for more
- birthed //SFest in '02 //SFest.com, 10 consecutitve years now (yikes), had over 1000 attendees from 21 states and 3 Canadian provinces to date
- occassionally write for European Car Magazine, and was just published in Excellence
- grew up (well... not yet but) on enTIREly too much Spaceballs, Airplane, Caddy Shack, Monty Python, Bugs Bunny, Beavis & Butthead etc which has left me w/o my own cognitive ability and renders my posts intentionally vaguely coherent 8-)
- I *thoroughly* enjoy a good laugh, esp @ me own expense
- hope to meet some of you @ gatherings & events!!!
- ps. YABOES!
YOUR TURN!

2003 S320 CDI
Hi Paul (formerly known as Sgt. Schultz) and all other named.
Good idea in any case. So:
- name: Francisco Javier (eFeJota are the initials of my first name as it reads in spanish).
- car: Driving a 2003 facelifted W220 S320 SWB CDI (180k miles at the moment).
- age: 37 years old until within a month.
- location: Valencia (Spain).
- hobbies: all sports, especially racket sports.
- work as information and quality systems management and as tennis and paddle coach.
- as I said in a thread, the W220 S-Class is mostly driven by 'old men' in my country. In 20 years driving, I've always liked modifying each car I've had to get more sporty look, and S was not going to be less. I like to modify my car little by little. Next update: a full body kit (similar to AMG sport pack or Neodesign's Sultan II one).

Humor goes a long way in breaking the ice on forums where 99% of the folks hide behind odd and obscure monikers. For that Sarge, you’ve done well. That said, I always sign my posts to add a human aspect and encourage others to do the same.
I'm Jeff Brown, age 56. Which makes me sort of an old school kinda guy. Not shy about it, in fact I subscribe to the adage that 'Old Guys Rule'! My wife and I live in San Antonio, which is truly populated by every non-contestant of The Biggest Loser in America and where there are fewer cars without HC plates than with (local DMV virtually gives ‘em away).
I currently own a beautiful '96 SL600 that I resurrected from the depths of hell and a '05 S55 AMG which is a work in progress. This poor beast was also sliding down the slippery slope of neglect before it got a ‘garage upgrade’ from the previous owner. Guess I’m a sucker for restoration projects. Although no longer in ‘the stable’, I've owned a red '73 450SL (RIP), plain-Jane '79 240D in gorgeous condition (cried when I sold 'er), '86 300E which was the wife’s first taste of a Benz (RIP), '88 420SEL (truly a land yacht!), '94 S320 (sold), '01 ML430 (sold... thank God). So I have experience with quite a few models.
I’m a US Navy veteran (Vietnam-era) but a survivor of Silicon Valley technical management. Travelled extensively in my ‘previous life’ professional life; mainly to Singapore and points SE Asia. Currently retired and enjoying working on my cars, though never seem to have enough time/money/resources. I volunteer at the local USO and am involved with the local MBCA. Technical things intrigue more than cosmetic, so you’ll rarely see me give an op-ed on someone’s trunk-filled boom box, gold-rimmed, dingle-ball-draped purple C230 with flashing blue neon undercarriage ‘look-at-me-I’m-cool’ floaters and windows spray painted opaque black. I’m all for tasteful mods – and mods are in the eye of the owner – but some are over-the-top and down-right ugly… IMHO. But I’ll never comment on it – might be labeled ‘a hater’.
Cheers,
Jeff

Dewd... NOT DERAILING whatsoever! THIS is the EXACT POINT to this thread!
It's been fun reading the responses thus far... find it funny there's 700 views and only a dozen+ replies. Either a bunch of stalkers (like Brucifer), or a bunch with stagefright / performance anxiety 8-).
Chris, I thought you'd gone quiet lately... d'oh forgot your wife was due last month. CONGRATS! 2 in 16mos? Irish Twins. Yikes! 8-) Hope it's going well. Wow, professional skier - pretty cool.
Marty... ex-racer... awesome!
Jason... lol @ the 5'4" comment... is that you in your sigpic? 8-)
George... 15 cars... love it! Folks used to ask me why I have 3 cars... to which I'd always reply: "because I don't have 5" Keep up the good work.
Elliot... SEVEN KIDS!?!?!?! My gawd you're prolific 8-). That's nutty! I'm speechless!
Jeff... amen dude, exactly - you totally 'get it'. 56 and retired? You rule! Good fer you, I can only hope to asspire to that someday. You sure must be a glutton 'restoring' the early 12 SL and your S55... yikes, I'd say I cannot imagine, but I sadly can. You're a brave (carazy) man. And, thank you for your service. 3yrs of Army motortrans here (jumping 5ton trucks was fun), to fund college - nothing 'real' like you... just the Guard!
Keep the intro's going folks, fun stuff.

- '06 S500, '07 CLS550, and Wifey has '10 RX350 (Toyota), which I hate...wish I could convince her to get a GL450, but no such luck thus far, even though I ***** and moan about the Toyota every time I'm in it
- 35 for a little less than 2 more weeks and really not wanting to turn 36
- Location? Where could I be? Southern part of heaven? Go Heels?
- Lawyer
- Married with 18 mo.-old son, my Little Buddy. Bought the S500 for him. It was getting tough squeezing him into his still rear-facing car seat in the CLS550 with the steeply sloping rear roof line. In a former life before parenthood, the Wifey and I loved to travel. St. John and Santorini are probably my two favorite places on Earth. Hoping to get back to St. John this spring.
