Carbon Fiber Interior - W220 w/ 3M 1080 CF vinyl

Well for those of you wondering what black CF trim over oyster interior would look like on an S-Class... here you go.

Done using 3M's new 1080 vinyl, upgraded version of their DiNoc product.

Many people may not like this look but I really think it looks fantastic.
Gives such an evil look to a very sinister car.
I think you made great choices.

I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't like it... I used to think it would make the car feel 'cheap' but it has done the opposite... made it feel modern, sporty and more like an AMG rather than a standard Mercedes.

well...I don't like it.

That said, i think it looks much better on the gray interior than it would on black or tan.

Nevertheless though, its a full sized luxury sedan that weighs 4400lbs+. The idea of carbon fiber trimmings seem a little silly to me, but its not my car and you already knew this wasn't my bag.

your car, if you like it, good.

the job looks well done though.

Hello Oxygen!

I like it! Been there done that, all done myself!

From Carbon Fiber to, gloss black to matte black currently. I personally think you would get bored after while . I am on the verge of doing brushed aluminum with black accents!

Keep it up!

love it! I usually like CF wrap when its covering tacky plastic, but there is nothing tacky inside a s65, its all stitched leather and wood!!

First, the good. The application job looks great. Some one did a fantastic job.

Also, I didn't know MB made S65s with the ash interior. All the S65s I've ever seen have had a black or java interior.

But, the thought of all the nice wood trim in a once $165,000 S65 being covered up with tape (or whatever that stuff is) makes me sad. It's your car, though. So, if you like it, good on you.

It's unfort the way this forum seems to be in general 8-/... wakeupladies

Really great execution... nice shots too they really show the look well. I dig the textured finish with a near matte sheen, it looks elegant and aggressive simultaneous.

I've seen/felt that in budses' D2 //S8 and e39 ///M5 and it was quite surprisingly spectacular - don't judge till you've touched. I think I like it (textured) more than the clear coated and ludicrously cool blue stitched CF trim in my urS6 of yesteryear.

Makes me want to run out and do mine - then I sit and mine and BASSSSSSK in the wowness of that fantastically fabulous grain. When the sun hits it... faaaawwwk.

I think the wood's maybe sorta more appropo in a 600... the CF for when/if I ever move on to a 65. By then it'll be a W221 tho 8-).

So that said - I say - ****!

Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing. Be cool to meet up w/ you sometime, I'm out on the Island for work a couple x's / yr - tho typically in rentalz. Am trying to get my car to Broadway Perf sometime this spring, so maybe around then...

A Mercedes obviously!
I think it looks good on your car because:
-It seems appropriate for an S65
-It suits your interior colour
-Someone has done a superb job installing it.

If someone had done it to an '00 S430 I'd have probably laughed...and I won't be doing it to my 600 any time soon.

Thanks everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it!

For those interested, the work was done by Matt @ PHENOMenal Vinyl in Lindenhurst, NY... you can look them up on Facebook for more information. They specialize in high-end work and do a great job.

They took off 90% of the parts to wrap them and only did one or two pieces on the car (the roof handles for example) and the job took about 14 hours to complete.

It would look just as good in a 00 s430 in the same interior color (which I have btw) . In fact I would argue its better in the low end models if it covered up some of the cheap plastic pieces ..... in a s600 or s65 evrything is wrapped in wood or leather, so you are covering up already nice leather wrapped or wood pieces.

I don't think S430's have "cheap plastic" trim pieces... I believe all S-Class models have genuine wood trim.

Also I didn't cover up any leather wrapped pieces... that would be c-r-a-z-y
