Help: occasionally creaking/grinding noise when turning wheel
Guys,
Just started to have noise when turning wheel.
It happens occassionally at low speed when I'm in parking lot. Doesn't need to be a full turn.
I may hear it once if I drive 5 times. And it sounds like creaking, grinding, squealing.
Not sure it is plastic or metal sound. I think it is from the steering column but maybe from the rack or suspension component.
I went out today and caught two occasions:
short one:
long one:
fyi: power steering fluid is little bit higher than max.
One and half year ago a indy put a ball joint in, apparently not an OE.
Any one has similar issue or any idea ?
Any suggestion is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Howard

Hey guys. This might help you out alot. Just came from stealer when i had similar noise comming from car. I posted question last week on forum. When i turn left or right i would hear a low grombling sound and it increases when excellerating in turn. And on occasion a clicking sound from front wheels.
Diagnos; Transfer case need fluid , they put fluid in and drove figure 8 in parking lot then drained it and filled it back up and did more figure 8 in parking lot. They said that it need to get fluid in every area of case. It worked.no sound as before. Even the cumking and clinking sound is gone when i put car in gear. Cost $165
The light clicking sound is a bad drive axcel left front. Said it is not bad enough to change now but when it gets louder deal with it.
Hope this helps.

Guys, just an update for this creaking noise.
As of now I believe it is caused by two joints. And George is dead-on it.
When I was doing my 140kkm maintenance I checked the front suspension and found the following parts on passenger side have worn out:
- Lower front control arm (called strut rod sometime), the boot of the ball joint is broken;
- Outer tie rod end, the boot of the ball joint is pinched;
I'll order the control arm and tie rod end then replace. In the mean time I will keep driving as it is no longer creaking after I posted the issue.
Thanks again!
