2001 S430 OIL IN TCM , LEAKING FROM WIRING HARNES AKA DATA LINE
I WILL BE REPLACEING THE TCM AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION CONTACT PLATE , BUT HOW WILL ISTOP THE LEAK SO THAT THE OIL WONT RUIN THE NEW TCM AND CONTACT PLATE ? ANY ONE WHO CAN HELP ME I WOULD GREATLY APPRICIATE IT , AND ALSO IM NOT SURE IF THEY CAN RE FLASH A USED TCM AT MERCEDES ? IT COMES WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY SO PLEASE ANY SUGGESTION ? I LOVE MY MERCEDES BUT I AM A STUDENT IN AN ENTRY LEVEL MECHANIC SCHOOL AND NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET !!!!

I am about to order the TCM the transmission contact plate and the connection for the
Wire I just hope this works

Your problem is with the bushing which connects the cable which comes from the ECU and links into the transmission. It s a common problem with most MB transmissions. It is a well known problem within MB circles. They have colour coded this bushing so that when the vehicle is back in an MB workshop they will know from the colour code when that bushing was last replaced. It s amazing that they have not been able to correct this very problem over the years . It has lead to many heart aches for MB car owners such as myself, I mean of course transmission problems , which they are so quick to deny. I sued and won!
