Extended Warranty Help
Hi everyone, new to this forum. Trying to see if anyone has purchased an extended warranty on a v12 lately. I'm thinking of purchasing a 03 S600 with 97k miles and want to know if there's a reputable company that the dealership will honor. Any number, name, company would be helpful.
Please help newbe!!!

You may need to find a company by tomorrow as most won't cover a car over 10 model years old , so 12/31 will be the last day
Usaa has been mentioned recently in the AMG v12 forums
Fidelity is another

Thanks for the info. I will try USAA on tomorrow. The dealership close to me in Georgia said that Fidelity was a joke. Maybe they had a bad experiences with them not sure. Also I will try to get a brochure with the details before I purchase. I will keep you informed.
Thanks

Usaa will go to 10 years 115k
Miles so you'll need to act tomorrow if you want it.
Its priced high due to the car high mileage -$3455 for only one year coverage
I was able to login and save a quote valid till 2/2014 but I don't know if that saved quote will enable you to buy it next year if you request a quote today
https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/exte...kredirect=true
If it had low mileage , you could get up to 4 years . i ran a second quote , input 60k miles and the one year price dropped to $1200, 2 year $1900 etc

Since I haven't been in the military I can't use them.
Got a call back from Direct Buy. They have an option for Platinum Elite coverage. Have anyone used Direct Buy? Also do they pay claims?
The car is 2003 S600 with 97k miles.
They offered 2 years 40k miles for 4000.
Is this a good deal?
Thanks

It depends on the language of the contract and what it covers , it needs to cover things like the abc struts and coils
Price is secondary to reading the actual contract

Be careful my friend as NO ONE offered a decent warrenty for the V12 after 8 years. I am flying blind with GREAT luck, but if somethings goes afray, most repairs on the 600 are VERY costly.
And as others have said, PLEASE read the fine print, think suspension and ABC here.

Usaa has a good policy that goes up to 10 years old so its still a good option for 2004-2006 cars
They will cover cars up to 115000 miles but the coverage is short and costly on the high mileage cars . The 12 montn plan was the only term offer for a 97k mile car
On lower mileage like under 60-70k you can get 4 years coverage , which is basically the same warranty length as buying a new car

Thanks for all the feed back. The MB dealer in Duluth Ga. offered a deal with 2/24k miles. I believe this is the better deal since no one can say if direct buy is good or not. I think the dealer will sell a better product.

I previously had a warranty with warranty direct and never had any problems with them. The biggest issue you might have is the dealer's labor cost are generally much higher than they are willing to pay. I had was always that the dealer's labor cost were much higher than they were willing to pay. Had my gear shift replaced, ABC pump+hoses and seals and my out of pocket cost was less than $300 after some serious negotiations with the dealer.
