1993 Mercedes Benz 600SEL, 2003 MB E320
Could someone please explain to me the model line up?
As I understand it, Mercedes has the following models to compete with BMW:
A-Class: No competitor
C-Class Sports Coupe: 3-Series Compact
C-Class: 3-Series
CLK: BMW 6-Series ???? (or should it be the two door 3-Series models)
E-Class:5-Series
M-Class: X5
S-Class: 7-Series
SLK:Z4
CL: No Competitor
SL: No Competitor (was this the Z8???)
The CLK's position has always confused me, and now with the new CLS I am even more confused.

i'm not sure of the overall dimensioins but i would most likely
put the upcoming 6 series against the CL. the new CLS is supposed to be a little bit wider than the current E but it's
going to have 4 doors....i don't think anyone has a car quite like that(4 door coupe
).

the new 6 will have a convertible version. that could compete with the SL but as far as size id say its interior wont be much, if any larger than the CLK since its based on the new 5. at the moment id say MB has the more diverse line-up.
