Sat Nav W220

Hi People.

I know started another thread but have many questions. Hope that's good with you people.

How do I know I have the Sat Nav option in car. I don't want to buy the CD without knowing that's what will activate it.

Currently it says that Insert Navi CD.

Wait your replies people

All USA w220 have nav

Note that if there is anything wrong with the system just installing the cd won't make nav work .

Just buy a single cd off of ebay and slide it into the slot on the command to make sure it is working before you go out and buy a whole set.

In US versions the nav unit is in the boot on the left hand side. There should be a door that gives you access to it. If it is not there you most likely don't have one.

It always helps to give the info on the car, as things vary with model year and market. The earlier USA W220 cars use multiple CDs in one of two versions, inserted as needed in a slot on the Command Unit. Later (2004 and up) cars use a single DVD.

Since your Command Unit appears to be asking for a CD, you probably have an earlier car, and you probably have a nav system. I know of no way to tell whether it works or not without inserting a CD from the proper version.

A Mercedes obviously!
As long as your car doesn't have this you have nav. In the UK COMAND was an option on the early S280s, S320s (and CDIs) and the S430s. It wasn't until you got to the S500 that it was standard.
