Grinding/rubbing?

Whenever I make a turn to the right I get a weird grinding noise. Almost like something is rubbing.. No idea what it could be. Anyone got their 2 cents?

It could be your power steering pump, or your wheel could simply be rubbing on the wheel well.

Forgot to mention it's only while I'm driving. At a stand still it does not make the same groaning noise

When you say turn, does that mean a full lock? or just lane changing turns.

Lane changing isn't enough to do it. But right hand turns are.

I would be looking carefully inside both front wheel wells for any sign of rubbing from the tire.

If, after careful examination, there is no sign of rubbing, I would jack the front of the car and check both front wheels for any looseness or movement.

Your CV joint might be going. Do what Wally said, jack the car up, and try to turn your tires left and right with your hands.

Thank you guys, gonna bring it to the shop tomorrow and get it on the lift. I think my bushings in my steering column might be shot as well. I'll report back tomorrow after its on the lift.

I got the car on the lift today, wheels are snug, no rubbing there, joints seem to be all good. When the car was on the lift we werent able to replicate the problem. But once its on the ground and we move the steering wheel left and right we can hear the noise. more like a sound of pressure releasing.

Still trying to diagnose everything. Sometimes at low speeds while turning right (and only right) i can feel sort of vibration in the steering column? Like maybe the bushing could be shot..

Lifting is a no beuno, it changes the height of the wheel. you actually need to keep the car low and then turn. I had hit something on the interstate and it bent plastics wheel arcs. Bent it back and all was good.

Good to know thank you! I actually noticed the left ball joint was torn. So I'm replacing that tomorrow, hopefully that fixes the problem whenever I turn right.

Also my right outer tie rod has a little play in it.
