Does the car seem as if it is going to cut off when you are stopped such as rough idling? How many miles do you have on your car? Have you ever replaced your Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) or your Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)?

That sounds like a MAF sensor, or your accelerator pedal is on its way out. The accelerator pedal has 2 potentiometers, for the ECU and TCU. If they get different readings, you will have a delayed acceleration.

Before spending any money take it to your local advance auto or autozone and have them check for any codes. Even though you don't have a CEL there may be some stored codes. Anyway, they provide this service free of charge. If they come up with codes write them down and come back here for additional help/advice.

If it has 133k miles, its probably due for a MAF sensor clean anyway. Get a bottle of CRC MAF cleaner and give it a good spray. Just don't touch the wire or let any dust get on the sensor. Let it completely dry before putting it back on.

Nick, the MAF is located under the engine cover closer to the windshield. It is a round tube like thing. I would suggest that you raise your hood all the way up in the 90 degree position. That makes it a lot easier to work on.
Here is a youtube video that show what the MAF looks like.
If you replace your MAF use a Bosch. Don't go for some off name brand otherwise you'll be right back there in a few months.
