S600/S500/S430 with paddle shift steering wheel ?

Hi all, did a search and can NOT find any info ! I have a 05 S600 and want to put a steering wheel with paddle shift like my old 03 S55 AMG. The idea is like this: I just try to get a S55 steering wheel or some other aftermarket one and then I need to order the wiring from the steering wheel paddle shifter to the gear shifter. I have seen this done by other Mercedes model, I forgot its a C or E class. Anyone done this before ?? I like to put this one on my S600 !

I believe the following steering wheel is from a 2006 S65 and the white connector should be
from the paddle shifter, anyone can help me to find a part number the wire from the steering
wheel paddle shifter to gear shifter ??

Given that the transmission is already set to shift up/down by moving the shift lever left/right, it shouldn't be impossible to do.

The Amg transmission is the same as the regular s430/s500 so it should work

W220 S500 Paddle shift installed and 100% flawless

I recently figured out how to command up and downshift control via a wireless 2 channel receiver that talks to the optic switch assembly inside the shifter of my W220. It receives signals sent from two paddles I installed in the factory steering wheel that are connected to a 2 channel transmitter behind the airbag module. As best I can tell, I am the first one to ever do this on a 220 chassis, as doing so was a challenge because the + and - detents do not activate a contact switch, but rather an optic beam is used! I can't find photos or even discussion anywhere of anyone else having done paddles on these. Instant shifts with no delay either. I'm in Las Vegas if you need help with your own car, just say the word!

Wow, never think that way will work, I am in L.A. and I can drive to Las Vegas have my car install the module by you, just let me know how much is the cost. PM me if you prefer ! You should try to sell the parts to W220 guy that want the paddle shift steering wheel.

It's not so much the parts or modules, it's figuring out how to make it work and NOT put the shifter module itself into a fault mode (disables shift function altogether). I have it 100% functional in mine and I would be willing and able to install it on anyone's W220 if they don't mind the trip to Vegas! Total time to install is around 4 hours or so. Steering wheel, center console, and shifter mech must be removed and shifter mech disassembled too. Will NOT affect the + & - shift controls on the factory shifter either, so you will have both options to control shifting.

Andrew, sounds as if you just started a new side business, whether you wanted to or not!

One of my guiding principles is, if you're gonna do it, it's better to be an expensive call girl than a cheap *****. Don't sell out cheaply!

Thanks Wally, when I was an executive for different property development company the founder once told me "When you start getting paid for what you KNOW and not what you DO, then you can command any price you like"! That said, any tips on where to start for pricing? The components take about 4 hours to install with a wheel that already has switches, longer if I have to install switches into a wheel that never had them. What does anyone think a set up like this (and I'm 99% certain I'm the ONLY one to crack this issue) is worth paying for? Confidentiality clause signing and a pat on the back???

At least $400 if you value your time at $100/hour

Maybe $395 to sound more affordable

Yes, I value my time, but also have a passion for these cars and automotive performance! For that reason alone, I'll do these at $250.00 if you supply a paddle equipped wheel. $300.00 if I have to install paddle switches in a non equipped wheel. I will reset the adaptive transmission too. FREE INSTALLATION if you give me a black S65 or S55 W220 wheel with paddles installed already for my own use! I'm open to swap work for ECU and TCU flashing too. I also do crazy bright door puddle lights in LED (any color you want) and convert interior dome lights to LED as well. Text me @ 708-691-3672

Running lights are two colors in a single tube or white only. White and amber LED version (flashes amber when using turn signals just like the newest Benz models and Audi and Lamborghini) is very cool. In order to NOT get "bulb malfunction" messages and a fast flashing condition, relays are used to isolate the tubes. They can be set up as always-on or on with headlights. The entire shell must be split open to mount the tubes and then resealed closed again. Al connections are soldered - no tape jobs here. They are compatible with HID, bi-xenon, self leveling...any style you currently have. White only tubes installed are $220.00 and dual switchback style are $250.00 plus the cost of shipping method you prefer. They do not draw significant power over standard headlights and are protected by the same fuse system and rating. You can mail your lights to me in Las Vegas, Nevada and I can install and send them back via a shipping method of your choice the same day in most cases. Removal and installation of the headlights from your car is a 10 min job and only 6 bolts total. Text me and Ill send you video and photos of them too. 708-691-3672

Thanks! Since purchase I've done myself: all 4 air struts, every front suspension part and bushing, front sway bar links, DRL lights, Denso TT spark plugs, Bosch O2 sensors, belt, air filters, engine and trans mounts, flex disks, 4 tires, paddle shifters, SS brake hoses, diff pinion seal, coolant reservoir, ignition wires, airmatic relay upgrade, fuel filter, LED taillights, soft close diaphragm in trunk, airbox mods, custom exhaust, rocker cover seals, MAF sensor, LED fog lights, LED interior lights, cabin filters, and tightened every nut and bolt on the chassis. Running like brand new, and essentially a restored car! I look at it as spending and investing 10k to have a 100k car again. Gotta love the engineering on Benz products...

How about the whole LED works with the car in Vegas? Can you do them in one day and how much is the package?
