(Melted nipple) - Cost effective options to repair a PSE/Vacuum pump?
W220 - '05 S500
My issue is identical to the image above - the intake nipple melted.
Are there cost effective solutions to repairing this?
The following video suggests swapping out the top half, but I currently only see full unit replacements on ebay.
Also, does a replacement need to be programmed?

Big bump.
Had the same thing happen to mine, same plastic nipple that melted. Has anyone simply heated up and threaded in a brass barb?
To avoid programming with STAR/DAS are there any good places to buy the plastic housing and swap over electronics?

My immediate reaction is - What the heck melted the nipple?
While I think that just replacing the melted nipple is feasible, it might be the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a cancer. Something in there is getting really hot. What? Why? Can that be fixed?

Nipple melts from the pump running non-stop. It was running non-stop because of cracks in the trunk soft-close feature, which is detailed in other threads to fix with 2-part epoxy. I've fixed that. Now I need to fix that plastic nipple.

I've never tried fixing a PSE pump but I just installed a new pump in my W220. I haven't torn down the old pump to see where the problem was...
But if you want my old pump as a core/potential source of good parts - PM me your address and it's yours.

the pump should have timed out and shut off by itself but maybe it wasn’t a severe enough leak
