I'm going to Autowerks their in San Diego, Ca.
I found out about them a while ago they have a vareity of great upgrades!
Their address & phone# Autowerks-- 9285 Chesapeake Drive, suite B. San Diego, Ca. 92123 858-569-2447....If I remember correctly ask for Mike...
Their prices are better than performance products and they'll install it for you too I think install is about $150.00

Are you willing to do what they want IE..there requirement for purchase is to wire the money in full, directly to them in Germany. I don't know about you but that sounds really fishy if anything goes wrong you have no recourse.....

A headlight update is definitely not plug-n-play. Not only have you one more connector on the 03 headlights, but the connectors are differently shaped/wired.
I have heard many things as well and it probably depends on the type of adapter. Some adapters that handle the whole conversion (so I have heard; benzoparts.com charges $500 just for the cables), some internally modify the lights and use an adapter cable for the automatic height adjustment/connectors.
Some of it is probably due to the fact that Bi-Xenons have a motor or relay that opens the reflector for the hi-beam setting+halogen. The old headlight simply used a halogen bulb.
I have never seen any pics of either the cables or the conversion. Would be nice if someone can post any.
Either way, it is a rip-off...

His installation labor cost is $150. The cost for an adapter is $150.. plus the lights themselves, I may visit him this Saturday, will update my exp.

Sounds like a decent deal on the adapters. If you do it, can you take some pics of the adapters/install?

There is a levelling cable from the lamps to the control module that goes inside the car. It is a lot easier and simpler than the C-class and E-Class models to retrofit and well worth doing properly.

You need the adapter to make the auto leveling work. You could also install it without the auto leveling but I would recommend it. I have an appointment tommorrow at autowerks express in san diego to get it installed. I picked up the set of brand new 2003 xenon lights on Ebay for $1900

The thing is working fine. Micheal informed me that he will sell the Harness/adapter if someone needs one.
I will update all of you with how it is working in a few days.

Apparantly it is not a very smple thing, Autowerks in San Diego are the only ones in our area that are doing the conversion. From what I have heard it is quite difficult to go from Halogens to Xenons and a little bit less cumbersome to go from Xenons to Bi-xenons
I went to Bi-Xenons from the stock Xenons on a 2000 S500

Didnt you know "its difficult" when you are paying someone else to do it.
Seriously. its one control box and one cable according to Mercedes. The levelling system and washers sytstem are already in place. What gives ?
