Lock/unlock/trunk not working, blown fuses
Hi there, im new to this site/forum, and have found numerous topics and conversations that have definatly helped, but i just purchased a 2002 s500. Doors were locking fine with key fob until the other day so went to the fuse and it was blown ( f62 under right rear passenger ). Replaced the 20 amp fuse multiple times but when i open the trunk or use the lock and unlock on the key fob or inside lock/unlock button it blows the fuse. Help?

The fuse controls your pse vaccum pump in the trunk which controls all your vaccum systems like locks and trunk
most likely Your trunk lock has a short or vaccum leak causing the pump to blow the fuse

Thanks for the reply, ya i thought if i didnt use the trunk that it was fine but i was wrong, i bought a pack of those fuses that light up when blown and left the cover off the fuse panel, got out of the car, hit lock on my key fob and boom, red light = blown fuse. One of the times i replaced the fuse i could hear a noise coming from the trunk that did not sound normal as it continued until the fuse blew again. Bought the car for 4 k, put 1400 more into it a couple weeks ago, am just praying its not something thats going to cost me a lot to fix. Living in the Folsom, CA area im okay with my car only having an alarm but not actually locking, its going into the Sacramento area thats the reason i worry.

I wonder if a short-circuit in the retracting trunk wire harness could be responsible. I don't know whether there is actually a locking signal on that harness or not.
You could try unplugging the PSE pump and see if the fuse still blows. The pump is located in a sound-proof housing behind the trunk lining in the forward left corner of the trunk.

Locking system not working 2006 S500 replaced #62 now clicking noise
Seem to be a problem with my locking system, not working from dash or fob, I replaced blown fuse # 62, did not repair still have the same problem, However I now hear clicking, I let it click for about 60 sec and then pulled fuse. I know I have read this before, about clicking from the trunk after replacing this fuse , I just can not find or remember the answer. All the items on this fuse are not working. Where do I go next?
