W220 S500 Mercedes not turning on

Hello ,

I have a s 500 2002 w220 and I recently locked my keys in my trunk and tried to get into it by following a youtube video where I removed a fuse from the fuse box that it is located in the back seat. When I was moving it the lights in the cabin stoped working and the car does not turn on but it cranks. How can I fix it?

This sounds like your battery is dead.

Why were you moving the fuse box ?
you either shorted something out , fried the SAM or prefuse block , or if you’re lucky the battery is just dead from sitting

is there any way I can test the Sam or the perfuse box. The battery is not dead. I put a new one and its still same . Nothing in the car cabin works. Besides the dash and the car cranks but doesn’t turn on.

Crank Position Sensor for no start… https://w220.wiki/Crankshaft_position_sensor

Rear SAM for interior electronics… https://w220.wiki/SAM_(Signal_Acquis...tuation_Module)

SAM problems are rare unless there’s been water intrusion into the car. If you encountered no water during your recent work, I’m going to say it’s not the SAM. Replace the CPS to see if she fires up, then check all interior fuses and connections. At this age it’s not a bad idea to simply replace them all.

Would the CPS affect the electronic too? I don’t believe water went inside. It was raining when I was fixing it. It open the door for like 30 seconds and closed it.

It is definitely not the CPS, it’s most likely the Prefuse block. There are two

one on under the front passenger floor, carpet, and one in the trunk by the battery.
