Went over to the TPC and found a nice background and shot some new images. Also a couple on the Library grounds. They are posted on http://www.nevadajack.us on the S550 AMG album, page 4. I will post all future pics on the Sticky Official Pic thread....unless I get something really outstanding.

LOL Jakpro1...it's a wonder the new leather seats don't need replacing after that mountain event...the knuckles have returned to normal.

Just a quick question, what kind of range are you getting with rolling your windows up/down with your remote? Is it improved from the previous 220?

I really have not checked out that feature Ken...I use the KG almost exclusively and have not had the windows down except the drivers one. I think I read somewhere that they had improved the range.

I've always enjoyed your pics Jack. Especially the background. Are you anywhere near close Summerlin? I have a cousin there who i visit from time to time. Maybe we can meet up one of these days? Love to see your car in person.

I live in Summerlin Jam...moved here almost 12 years ago. I am located a little more than a 1/2 mile west from the TPC golf course near Town Center circle and Library/Arts center.

That's great and I love that place. I think that's also where my cousin goes golfing when he does. Might visit him again next month probably sometime around memorial day. Hope to see your car around.

Great pictures Jack. Awesome car especially with the AMG pak. I can't wait to get my obsidian black with sahara interior as well. You may want to blackout your license plates. Can't be too safe.

Hey NJ how well does the Navi work and also does it work well with the voice activation?

Thanks pate...I used to do that with the plates but they are out in the public all the time anyway. It is a hassle doing each image you want to post.

What is your build or delivery date...? I had a Obsidian Black '98 wagon with a beige interior and it was a very nice combo. Post some pics when you get it....

The navigation works really well...faster than the CD one on the S430. Also very accurate...the turns are right on cue. Display is more detailed also and yesterday when I went to Nellis AFB and approached the gate she said "restricted entry ahead" or something to that efffect.

As far as the voice activation it worked great in my S430. However, as discussed on this and other forums, MB ran out of the Voice Control/Phone kits installed at the VPC's and they are on backorder. Without that kit there is no voice control and no phone hookup to COMAND. I had sent a zinger to MBUSA before I got the car and they called me on Friday. They apologized and indicated demand in EU and the US has really impacted deliveries. He estimated the kits would be available in early spring (now) to early summer sometime. They will be installed by local dealers to the VIN # cars that were delivered without them. Dealers have the option of taking the cars or waiting for the install by the VPC...most want to deliver the cars to their customers so they take them without the phone kits. So it goes...:-)

I have delivery date scheduled for end of June beginning of July. Obsidian black with AMG pak, keyless go, electronic trunk closer, and heated steering wheel (it gets kinda cold in the winter in jersey).

I am leasing mine so I can't take delivery until then so I don't break my current lease. It was betwen the S550 and the 760 Li, but after driving the car, it was a no brainer. I also have a Aston Martin V8 Vantage on order with build date of december this year for early spring delivery. Both cars are ordered at Ray Catena in Edison, NJ. Great dealership with excellent sales and service. This will be my 5th and 6th car from them and a total of 12 for my family.

For some reason I thought that you could control the navigation system as far as speaking an address instead of using the command control or is that tied into the thing you are waiting on to control the phone with your voice

Without the Voice Control/Phone Kit you have no verbal ability with COMAND for any function. The Voice Control module in the kit activates the voice for all the features.

I am a tech person so I like the Ideal that they are coming out with the new Lexus LS 460 they make a good automobile. But the S550 is a beautiful automobile man I really like this car. I don't want to test drive one for fear I might fall in love with it and not wait to compare with the LS 460 when it comes out. To me MB hit the ball out of the park with this one.

I think the new Lexus will be a nice car but I don't think it will have the style or performance of the S550. I agree with you that MB hit a home run and the quality problems are in the past...this is just a complete package.

I didn't always like the white but it has grown on me. It looks so nice on the LWB.
