Interested in new S550 or S600...
We are looking to replace our 01 S600 and I have been looking into prices and lease rates for the new S.
Does anyone know the residual values for a 36 mo. 12k/year for both the 550 and 600?
From a quick calculation it looks like it's running in the mid 40%, which seems very low, especially for the 550, whereas the old S500 was more around the mid-50%.
I have yet to see either of the cars in person, other than a brief look at the auto show.
Like on the W220 model, is the S600 interior a lot more plush than the S550? For example, the alcantara headliner, extra wood trim, leather dash, etc. Or, are these avaliable on the 550?
I'm trying to decide if the new 600 is worth the extra premium.
Thanks.

I'm in South Jersey. The car i placed on order for June delivery has the following lease terms.
Base price 94,375 with AMG pak, Keyless go, heated steering whell, and electronic trunk closer including $1000 gas guzzler and $775 destination fee. Foe 39 month, 15K/year monthly around 1670. I was tld residual on the car is 61% of MSRP placing it at 57K. hope this helps you.

Sorry second part of the question, the extras on the S600 are partially available on the S550, no different than at the MBUSA site. i know that alcantara lining is not available on the S550, i asked.

That residual seems more correct. It's strange, I plugged in your numbers into leasecompare and it still comes out with approx $44K residual value, which puts it at about 47%.
I'm gonna drop by the dealer today and ask them for some numbers.
Thanks.

Thanks guys... the dealer we have been going to for the past 10 years happened to have a new S600 in today and after driving it, we decided to take it home. It's an amazing car. I'll try and post pics if people want to see them. It's pewter silver with grey interior.
Let me know if you have any questions about it.
