What is the best realistic deal for '07 S550?

What is the best realistic deal for '07 S550?

Folks,
I am planning on buying a S550 4Matic and CLS550, if I would purchase both cars from a same dealership, what kind of a discount am I expecting? Since many of you already purchased a S550, what kind of deal did you get? I think I should at least expect $2000 off MSRP per car? Especially I heard MBUSA sales are (way) down due to the electrical problem...

March 2006 was the best month in Mercedes sales history, so I don't think any "fire sale" discounts are happening right now. Some models like the new R-Class appear to be suffering with slow sales, so factory money and dealer discounts are quite available. The S550 4Matic still hasn't hit the streets yet, so here you are on the wrong side of the supply / demand equation. I think your specific situation can probably only be addressed on an individual dealer basis. What part of the country are you in ?

Agreed.

If I was thinking about buying a $200,000 package of 2 MB's...I think I would be at my local dealer or some other one talking turkey and not asking if he could get $2K on each one on this forum. Just an observation...:-)

Just shopped for my Dad's and made the deal for him 4-5k off is easy to do all day long on one car. Tons of inventory around. DCX numbers come out in a month or two and then 12% off with the number.

Are you talking about the S550? 12% off...you have got to be kidding!

What dealer and what was the list and discounted sale price...if you made the deal you must know these figures.

I think he is talking about the internet rumour that DCX (DaimlerChrysler) is 3 months behind with their sales reporting and then inflates it 12% to keep saying they are having great sales years/months. Easy to believe if you live in the middle part of the country- the Mid west is way behind everywhere else, and I have heard this before here.
But, knowing that A- the sales numbers come out no later than the 10th every month, as reported by the dealers and B- there is a huge backlog on S-Class (especially with the options people want), and C- there is no electrical problems at all with this car then I would dismiss this as drivel. If he really got 5K off a 221- he needs to tell everyone else where!!

If anyone is serious about a W221 and wants a good deal they should at least call Greg Weiler at Glauser...they are a sponsor and will definitely discount the car but how much is up to you and them when it comes to crunch time.

There are not only no electrical problems with this car...there are NO problems with this car...period! Posts talking about buying a CLS and S550 and wanting to know if he can get $2K discounts is BRAVO SIERRA to use a JAdmiral phrase. I am sure you know MBTech21 that this car is trouble free up to this point in it's life cycle. The only problem is the MB on demand inventory system...:-)

The "DCX Number" is the Chrysler employee discount number which automatically gets you 12% off MSRP - I have heard it is only a few months away for the S550 ...they just wait a few months before allowing it on new models. The number is simple to get because it is available to even "distant" relatives if you get my drift. Just find someone that works for Chrysler or a dealer.

As for the 5K off - I had about 4 dealers giving me the same deal on the car, it was not that hard to get them to deal ..there are just a lot of these things around and not the most demand which surprised me.
