Keyless Go - is it easily crackable?
this is a perfect example of flawed thinking relating to security issues. the truth is that there are a number of different code-hopping key cracking programs as well as full key intercept/retransmit devices coming out of eastern europe right now. they are *very* well designed and thought-out and completely break some transponder based ignition systems (think ford/toyota). there are alot of out-of-work and very talented engineers in those countries who are being offered big money for these devices... more money than they might normally make in a year. the economics of car theft work out such that the guy who designs these devices is never going to steal a car. At the same time the guy who steals the cars only has to push a button at the right time.
