So far ive been able to get 5000 off sticker? Is that about average? I think with more haggling and shopping around i can do better.

That's about the most I have seen off! You may be able to do better on a car a dealer can't move, however 5k is a good amount off sticker for a car that was introduced in March of this year.

Just by ebay standards, the base S550 is all over the place for $3000 off MSRP. An AMG package is going for sticker. S600 are going for about sticker.....an S600 with AMG package???....i saw one for about $150,000 as the starting bid WITH reserve. Not due till later in the fall.

That being said, you should be able to BEAT ebay prices.

Just took a 30 second look on ebay and there are cars for 3k off and an AMG package car for 5K off. So as I said earlier if it's a car you like for 5K off, that seems to be the going cost for a 99K S 550 today.

If you have not checked, call Greg at Glauser MB in Denver and see what they can do for you. Very competitive!

At that price maybe you should buy two. Using your formula, in two months you can get them for less than Invoice...in a year they will be giving them away free...:-)

LOL... thanks for the sarcasm.. But unfortunately, Mercedes vehicles have just not been holding up their value. Case in point -- the SL $15,000 rebates!
Anyways, I think at about $8000 off MSRP in 2 months from now that'll be the lowest the S550's go.

Since there are many MB dealers (sponsors) on the forum who openly indicate pricing, it seems to me you should just let the other forum members in on your "special" pricing source so they can take advantage of these great deals. How about it... I know of several serious shoppers who would welcome the information without sending you a PM.

Are the discount you can attain only on inventory vehicles or can that be applied to custom orders? I would gladly wait if I could get one to my liking for $8000 off MSRP.

In My Opinion, Ppl that state they can get the new S Class cars for invoice or below, are very likely just saying that because they are upset they can not get one for themselves, and the only thing that will make them feel better is to try and make those that already purchased the S Class feel as though they either overpaid with a poor deal, or will lose all their money in a depreciation nightmare.
I dont know about everyone else, We didnt get my S Class as an investment. We got it because its beautiful, its safe, its pretty damn cool, etc.... Anyone buying it for an investment should also be considering investing in Enron, and the like.
If you can go ahead and get your S Class at $8000 off MSRP...woopie, go get it! Thats definetly a very amazing, yet quite unbelievable deal. However, unless I saw that in writing, I cant believe that. With the stats of S Class sales, there is just NO REASON for any of these cars to be sold at that price. The dealer would be stupid. Tossing Money Away.
For now, I shall believe it is just jealous banter from someone trying to dull the sensations of current S Class drivers and bring them out of their Euphoria..... Dunno bout u Jack, but I am still on my High and hearing someone claim we did not get such an amazing deal hasnt effected me at the least =)

Father of my friend got his new S550 from Mercedes Benz of Longbeach for $5K off MSRP last month.
If anyone want a good discount, try the Maybach 57 or 61, I think around $80-$100K off MSRP, enough to get a fully loaded S550

I'd be interested in knowing the MSRP on the car that was discounted $5K. Was it a $90K P1 option or a $110K loaded P3 with ABC and Distronic?

Correct and we expect to pay more...I do it with cameras, HD TV's...you name it.
I took delivery on April 4th (pretty early adopter) and got more of a discount than currently being offered on eBay for AMG kit cars...dealers do make a difference! At the time some offered much less and most none at all on the car.
To indicate that the 2007 S Class will be selling for less than dealer invoice in 2 months is idiotic and anyone who believes this will be looking for the next Brooklyn Bridge sale...:-)
