Post Preowned Black/Black S550 MSRP 92075/now $79075 7800 miles

This was an early release S550V without "package" build. It was just traded in on a 4matic.

This car has the following options:

040 Black
801 Premium Black Leather $1300
R47 19" Multi-spoke Wheels $1200
297 Power Rear Side Window Sunblinds $700
401 Active Ventilated Front Seats $750
443 Heated Steering Wheel $450
536 SIRIUS Satellite Radio $500

Customer also added window tint and a clear bra/mask.

MSRP $92,075

This car has 7800 miles on it and we are selling the car for

$79075.00
+489.70 dealer fee

This car is best suited for a cash buyer or finance buyers. This car will not lease competitively with a new car, even with the lower selling price.

Please call 303.410.7820 or email gweiler@mbwestminster.com if you are interested in this vehicle.

Thank you,

Greg Weiler

I'm just curious, how many new MBs does Glauser sell in any given month?

Are there a lot of pre-orders for the new CL?

You may have missed it since many dealers charge a similar fee and Fletcher Jones in LV has it preprinted on the Sales Document. It is not "dishonest" if it is clearly and plainly diclosed as a "sales fee" such as Greg has done above. Profit it is in one way or another...if you don't want to pay it then just pass on the deal.

No Suprises

I would agree that it would be "dishonest" if you found out about after you had committed to the car and worked all the numbers, in this ad that is clearly not the case.

I always mention it in any post here with the price. We do the same on the phone or in emails quotes to customers. We don't like suprises nor do our clients.

But what is a dealer fee? Why charge it? Are you doing anything special to the car that you must be charging a dealer fee for? Just curious, since I have never seen such a charge.

i think the fee is for 'adversiting' and 'overhead' type of things...... it sounds stupid, but i was under the impression that all dealers do it, no?

Not sure where it came from

I know when Glauser had a store in Florida it was even higher, but I guess they are very common in the South. Almost every store in Colorado has them, regardless of brand. I bought a $1500 560SEL and had to pay a $119 dealer fee and the guy did not even have a free standing building.

I think some state's have banned the practice.

I'm not sure what happens to it on the accounting side. The first store I worked for out here used to say that's how the Title Clerk/Administration people got paid for doing the paperwork on the back side of a car deal.

I think if I owned the store I would want one in place so I could ensure that I was getting $489 everytime my store sold a car. In today's enviroment of people walking in the door with the "edmunds" invoice and an offer of $5000 below that, you have to have some sacred ground somewhere that the desk can not give away. Many of the stores that do not charge one would also have you believe there is only 7% in a Mercedes-Benz, their sacred ground is the 5% holdback for the store/owner.
