Brake squeal

Just noticed today that the brakes are starting to squeal...but only in the following situation - slowing to a comlete stop with light braking from about 10km/h eg when in a mall car park etc. They are silent in all other situations. Any ideas, insights from members as to this issue would be really helpful. Taking it to the dealer on Monday.......

It’s not a recall but rather a DTB. For future reference periodically review this Sticky: MBUSA W221 Bulletins to date @ https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w221/163014-mbusa-w221-bulletins-date.html (check post #11).

I have the same issue with the brakes. Nice to hear there is a partial recall. I'll be sure to put the existing brakes to "good use" first.

Yep me too. I have not had a chance to get them replaced yet. It started after about 400 miles on the car. Now I have 900 and it happens mostly pulling in and out of the garage.

I had the same problem with mine at 3k miles and the problem continues for the last 4 months. Lthe short of it, Smythe Euro in San Jose replaced all 4 discs, pads and calipers. They thought it was my 22 inch wheels that caused the vibration but now.................. The noise went away with all new components.

DEaler told me it was dust

Brought my squeaky brake S600 to the dealer and at the end of the day they told me it was just dust causing the squeaking and they cleaned the dust...

Of course the brakes are still squeaking.. so back it goes

that is exactley what my dealer said, that dust was causing it,and of course as i was pulling back into my office after leaving the ship, there went the squeak again. However i decided to live with it for a while, as upon further inspection of my car, i noticed, the usual greasy finger prints the mechanic left all over the seats, even in places the dude never should even be.H ell, i feel lucky though, at least i did not find any scratches on it, been there , done that too, very frusterating.
