Lightbulb Please help! how do i know if i have ABC just bought at auction

i just bought a new w221 at an auction with 6k miles, so far in three days i have ordered wheels and a carlson aero kit. i believe the car might have abc it does have that c s button on the center console can anyone help i need to know so i can order the proper lowering module, if it is even needed with this option. is there a setting where the car will actually lower itself?

I think the car will have the C/S switch even if it's got the standard airmatic suspension. That's not a good way to know if it has ABC.

I'm flipping through my manual right now trying to think of something. On the 220's there was a button on the console that said "ABC" on it, but that's not the case anymore.

Do you have the car now?

i got the car three days ago, but from an auction so there wasn't a manual in the car, or a wheel lock kit just my luck, and i am ordering my body kit and module tomorrow as a package.

Ok, well if you've driven the car with and without ABC then the difference in handling should be obvious, especially with the car in sport/standard mode.

If not, you could look at the windshield washer fluid reservoir. On the airmatic cars, the reservoir is visible and you see a clear/white or blue cap right near the intake plumbing (on the driver's side of the engine compartment).

On the ABC cars, the reservoir is not as visible from top, and the cap is a blue cap further forward (closer to the bump stop for the hood), also on the driver's side.

Also, the ABC car also has steel springs, which you should be able to see (especially if you turn the front wheels to one side)

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Sorry, apparently the cap on the airmatic cars can be blue as well, although the manual I have shows it as translucent white. But the relative location of the tank itself is still the key.

Then call or visit any dealer and ask them to look up the VIN.

You can also check the equipment sticker for code 487 which is ABC. This sticker is typically located under the hood and will include all of the 3 digit option codes.

You should call MB customer relations. Provide them with proof of ownership and they can send you a copy of the window sticker/equipment list for your car.
