Well Done!

Nicely done without any bling. I am not a fan of 22" wheels but these really look good. My only concern is the lack of rubber with those low profile tires...does it effect the ride much.

Beatutiful job...

BTW...Great pictures!

thanks for all replies. I've seen your photos NevadaJack, and coming from you that is a great compliment of my photo skills. These were taken with our new Canon 30D.

Believe it or not, the car rides almost like stock. You do feel a little more of the bumps at low speed but nothing objectionable. The airmatic does a great job absorbing most of the shock. And with the Kleemann lowering kit, there is virtually no change in ride quality with the lowering, either.

I thought I detected a Canon flavor to those images...:-) 30D is a great one and if you want a great walk-around lens get the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS...a great piece of glass and sharper than a tack!

Glad the ride is normal and those wheels are really the nicest I have seen anywhere on any car!

gorgeous....i was thinking about those Mayas and now im even more tempted. So ride quality didnt suffer?....how about noise, improved handling(may be obvious), gas mileage(i want to feel like im helping a little)?

And im feeling your pain with the holes they put in the front bumper for the license.

I normally don't like Maya wheels but those look very good.
Unfortunately your rotors look tiny now, time for a big brake upgrade to help with the look and added rotational mass.

Who makes a good big brake kit?

I am having that same problem of the brakes looking too small.

By the way... car looks great.

ride is totally acceptable, believe it or not. A little bit more road noise but once again totally within acceptable limits, but i'm sure I didn't help the gas mileage at all

Love the stance

I agree as others mentioned about the brakes looking lost behind those wheels.

WOW...those are the nicest rims I've seen on an S Class. Did you have the inserts on the spokes painted to match the car? I have a designo mocha, and matching the paint would be nice.

Thanks for all replies. The finish is called diamond black so the spoke insets are already painted (actually painted first and then the silver parts are machined out afterwards). It would be pretty difficult to match the Designo Mocha exactly, since it would be a lot of masking.

Whoa!! Rims look super trick on your car...very sharp. I question the comments you have received re: increased rotational mass, etc. If the static loaded radius is equall to the stock set up, why would rotational mass change(other than a decrease due to lighter unsprung weight) be an issue?

When I went from 17" to 20" I picked up a bit of road noise at lower speeds but gained much directional stability and lost some of the floaty feel common to the air suspension. Other than that the cornering feel of the car increased noticeably. I weighed my assemblies stock vs. 20" and the 20's are about 3~4 lbs. lighter.

Just wondering...I guess some of the aftermarket rims must be heavy as compared to others.
