SECOND. THis is what Merc have done to get the amazing Nano paint we now have. Well worth reading this excellent article: -

MERCEDES NANO PAINT

I have posted the link on the general forum too, as it is of general Mercedes interest.

It's nice to have the nanotech protectant but the way the paint is put on is much more scaley(spelling?) or orange peel looking than other manufacturers like Lexus LS line and all of audi line cars. It is just not smooth enough. I don't know what Audi does but the paint is so smooth and much more shiny than the MB. But Lexus paint could use the nanotech clear coat since many GS owners complain of paint chips.

MB Better than Lexus

The numerous sludge issues with the lexus V6 (recall recent class action suit) and their recent transmission hesitation issues, and not to mention their airbags not functioning issues demonstrate that Lexus has a long way to go to match the quality of MB.

Cool

Hi the Toyota V6 sludge issue is old goes back to 2003 before the new V6. The LS has the V8 never an issue with that engine ever. The transmission was on the 2004 LS and the transmission's were changed on certain VIN's because of the possiblily if a customer slammed the shifter in park while the car was moving a part could snap off and find its way into the valve body. So they recalled all of them in a certain VIN range. There are some complaints on the ES Lexus but we know that is not really a LEXUS the LS and GS are the only true flagships. Air bags still in progress, not on the Flagship. Just the facts JACK.....

Not to mention Toyota and Lexus has admitted fault in the case while MB still thinks that they have no problems with their 2000-2003 cars.

Hmm, if only Lexus didn't have parts that have TOYOTA printed on them, I'd give you that argument.

This is a completely ignorant statement. Lexus really does use Toyota parts, Mercedes has nothing Chrysler. But Mercedes did give Chrysler some of their old parts and platforms which I see nothing wrong with.

Ignorant are people who call the Lexus LS600 a Toyota. LS may not use any Toyota parts but if it did say use a toyota sensor, does this make it a Toyota. If MB used Toyota parts they wouldn't have so many problems in their vehicles.

Annoying and stupid are people who think they can insult others and think they won't get a response back.
If I start saying that the S-class is crap and all, don't you think I will get a response from MB owners so what do you think is different if MB owners start insulting Lexus owners. Duh! I don't care if this is an MB forum since it talks about the Lexus. And don't tell me that Lexus owners get out since I own both.

Good lord rieger, grow up. This thread has been discussed to exhaustion and here you are coming back everytime someone makes a post in this thread. If Lexus was so great, their own execs would not say that they don't compete with the 3 large luxo manufactures from Europe.

What I don't understand is why people come here if they hate Mercedes' and think they're such junk. Why come here then? What is the point? You only make yourself look stupid.

Am I the only one here that really likes both companies? Lexus makes an excellent product, MB makes a great product too. One thing I know we will all agree on is that Lexus service is much better than MB.

In general that is true, but not across the board. Some MB dealers are just as good as any Lexus dealer so it varies.

well I do like how my E-class drives but just hate the service from MB corporate and the unreliability of the vehicle.
Also we have some people on this forum who don't own a Lexus yet makes statements that MB service is just as good or that Lexus is a Toyota when they haven't driven both most likely. Just total stupidity of some MB owners.

Not always true. My MB Dealer treats me quite well with the Service department and sales department.

Whereas, the folks over at Lexus Mission Viejo were quite rude when I test drove the LS460l.

+1

Have/had products from both companies and each has its strengths and weaknesses - to me, there is no such thing as a perfect car and certainly no perfect car manufacturer.

Our experience with local Lexus service is that it is superior to all the others we've experienced compared to MB, BMW, Audi, and Land Rover.

What's interesting for me personally is that the Lexus, BMW, MB and LR dealers local to me are all owned by the SAME company...

Now, can we just close this thread down? I think it's run its useful course...

You seem to lack any sort of sense or comprehension. Did I respond to your post specificially? No I didn't. I merely questioned why someone who is obviously hell bent on bashing any and everything about Mercedes-Benz would continually come here with incorrect information and little to no facts and seemingly very little knowledge about cars in general. As usual your responses prove that you're the biggest idiotic nuisance in the known world, or at least in captivity.

according to you anyone that doesn't like MB doesn't know anything about cars correct? What facts have you given us then? None all you can do is through insults at people who are smart enough to realize MB has competition.

I assume you are talking about prestige. I have had good service with BMW there.
