I am in the market for an S550. What are people recent experiences regarding discount on 2007 models? What about on 2008 models (the local dealer told me they are released next week).
Any input is appreciated

I got mine for either 7 or 8 off sticker. I do not remember but you should not get it for anything less.

I was at the dealership in Dallas yesterday and they offered 3k off an s550 that was sitting in the showroom. It had every option apart from the AMG Package and Distronic.
I really thought that they would go further than just 3k.

By next week do you mean the week of 6/25 or the week of 7/2? I think an earlier thread established that the upgrades to the car are minor and limited to the Navigation system. Can anyone confirm that the 08s are coming out next week and that the upgrades are limited to the Navi?

when I was at the dealer, they offered me $4K off of a 2007 $92K S550 as their first offer. Obvoiusly they will go lower if that's their first offer... I told them I wanted to wait and see pricing on the 2008s and told them to call me when they are released. Then the saleswoman called us back and said they would be released next week. I am assuming next week means tomorrow 6/25, but it was a voice mail, so not sure.
Any recent buyers out there who can tell us how far they pushed pricing?

Did you recently buy from Greg? and if so, what kind of discount did you get?.. or is he just a friend you are plugging?

I bought from Greg in April of '06, 2 months after launch of the S550. Each deal is different but at the time I received $3500 off plus a more than blue book price for my '06 S430. Discounts on the AMG sport models at that time were unheard of with many of the dealers I talked with.

Greg is not a "buddy" but a respected sales rep for Westminster MB (previously Glauser) and a sponsor of this forum. Many have dealt with him and purchased their cars from him. He is straightforward and very knowledgeable. Talk with him and explain your needs and he will do everything possible to make you happy like he did me and many others.

When we were in the market for an S550, we had gotten a price of $500 above invoice on a 94K MSRP'd vehicle. That seemed the best we could do at the time, I'm sure things have changed substantially nowadays...

The latest release date I have is 7/16, the dealers on the coasts tend to have product a few days before because they are closer to the VPC's.

We have couple of 2 wheel drive S550's remaining and 14 4matics.

I do not know where you live but, I suggest you check with the Greater Los Angeles area dealers. When I shopped for my E63 I saw several dealers with a lot of S550s. Silver Star MB in Westlake Village, Ca. is a smaller dealer but they have been very nice to me.
David Waldock was my salesman. Another smaller dealer Mercedes Benz of Encino (Ca.) Russell Goodwin is very sharp, drives an AMG CLS. 818 788-0234. All the dealers have Websites most have detailed info on cars in stock and options,colors etc. I have no financial ties to them just trying to help you. Steve S
