Crashed....
Thanks so much!
I love these wheels. I think they are very aggressive looking - more so than the W220's AMG wheels.
Trust me, I would LOVE the 20s from the S63/S65 but living in NY - I have enough trouble keeping my tires for more than 2000 miles. Bubbles and flats literally every other month! It is crazy! I do my best to avoid potholes but...come on
Just to remind you...this was in NYC's Battery Park City Area. It popped both the front and back right tires, and a CLK 55 AMG's front and back right tires 3 minutes later. It also busted my Tire pressure censor - and cracked the CLK's rim.
We both filed for damage claims against the city - however we were denied saying the City was somehow NOT negligant!

Silver CLK 320?
I realize prob some ?40-50% of our tax dollars are wasted for various moronic purposes, corruption, entitlements, etc etc....but I doubt it costs that much to properly maintain key roads in urban regions where actual taxpayers live/work....
Sadly, I doubt absurd new taxes like congestion pricing in Manhattan will ever translate to smoothly paved roads, even in the regions of Manhattan deemed "important" enough for congestion pricing....
haha hey fellow brooklynite! I am really happy the car was fixed perfectly.
NYC Drivers are a tough crowd, but I don't see to often such blatant moves which put people's lives at direct risk. What I mean is - I understand people that speed - im guilty of that. But my speeding will NEVER put someone else's life at risk. Specifically, I do not do the "ins and outs" of lanes quickly, and I do not cut things close, or try to weasel around.
What that truck did was cross 6 lanes of traffic, not yeilding to the drivers going straight.
Yes - Do be careful because Ocean Parkway is NOTORIOUS for poor driving... Literally, every friend of mine has been involved in an accident on that stretch. (Some were at fault, some were not...but nevertheless, they were in an accident).

Hi There guys,
Well - yesterday at 10am - I was driving on Ocean Parkway towards the prospect expressway to head into Manhattan for an appointment.
By Cortelyou road, an oil tanker did not yeild to traffic and jumped his light making a left... My light was green but by the time I hit the brakes ... too late and I slammed into him by the front of his truck. I believe the impact was a 20mph impact.
I am fine. I truly did not feel anything but a bump - which is a testament to how these cars are built. I will need a new hood, bumper, fenders, and POSSIBLY a radiator, and an A/C....
All in all - the damage really is limited to cosmetic. The engine turned on and the police told me to drive it to the service road which I did with no problem.
I'll post some pictures when the dealership sends it to me.
I am fully covered - state farm insurance actually told me the dealership can begin work right away without having to send an adjuster so that was good news.
I do have a $1000 deductible but since this is my first real accident - my rates will not be raised and the insurance company has enough to go after their insurance because no matter what the trucker says I did - if he says he did not go through a red light - it would mean he did not yield to cars heading straight.
Anyways, I will keep you posted. I really am ok. Got out - and walked a bit to make sure my parts were working.
Just upset of course... however, it could have been MUCH worse...
I do have my DESIGN01 plate on my desk because it broke off and I have to have it replaced...
I was wondering - since I need a new bumper / hood / fenders...I was wondering if I should put on the 63/65 style bumper.
What do you all think?
Brad
PS - I have no idea why I am still on probation...although maybe it gives me that bad *** edge that I did not have in school.
Those of you who know me - are applauding
