What was I thinking????

I started a new project....

Got bored with my car already, but instead of trading it in, it got an upgrade.

Renntech ECU & Airbox

16" & 15" Brembos

Charcoal Alcantra Headliner

S65/S63 All Leather Steering Wheel.

Oh and I almost forgot.....

a new paint job. I didn't like the color.

What do you think?

Great upgrades. Enjoy, don't forget to post new pics of the final outcome (paint job that is, not ECU or the airbox )

I hate to sound like Simon Cowell but that is a hideous project. I would never paint a car like this unless it had been in an accident or unless the car had been keyed real bad. Not only did you spend quite a bit of money but the amount you just spent caused the value of that car to probably drop by double that amount due to painting it. Why did you go with such small diameter wheels? They look bigger than that.
What was the original color?
You better like this car because you just locked in some negative equity with it.

I hope it goes well for you.

Sorry to be so brutal but it's true.

The wheels are 21" Brabus, not sure what they are called. The car was originally Silver. It needed bothe the front and rear bumpers and hood painted because of rock chips and scratches from valet parkers parking other cars too close. Also the rear quarter panel had been painted twice before from somebody keyying the car. They were going to paint about half the car anyway, so I decided to paint the rest.

I was not a fan of the Silver from pretty much the day I got the car. I would have taken a huge loss trading it in anyway.

I am not concerned with the resale. It is so bad on these cars anyway. This way I will keep the car for 7-8 years and at that point it really doesnt matter what was done as long as I enjoyed it.

I retract what I said now. Sounds like it needed a paint job afterall. Good luck and enjoy the extra power from Renntech. I sure do.

I will get some more pictures once they get some more work done. They were letting the paint dry for a week before the started polishing. I am not rushing them, I want them to do things right. I didn't realize how many small parts there are.

Got to agree with trumpet1 on this one......

Not a big fan of messing with a $100k+ car - there's nothing like having the original factory imprints - paint, engine, etc.

Yeah repainting it in the same color because of damage is one thing, but changing the color of the car is another.... How do they paint the interior door jambs and engine bay etc etc... It's never going to look right

They take the entire car apart. I saw it the other day. It's almost done. and looks great. I will post pictures once I get it back. They are just finishing the small stuff and repalcing tires.
