Does anyone have an idea where I can find illuminated door sills? Has anyone seen the ones that say "Mercedes-Benz"?
Cheers!!

The S550 on the floor of the New York Auto show has illuminated stainless steel door sills that light up the words Mercedes Benz when you open the door. Although I haven't seen them on the MBUSA website, I know they exist. I have the non-illuminated stainless steel sills which I am quite pleased with. Not thrilled about the blue color on the illumination.

Thanks,
I want a set that says Mercedes-Benz in blue. I like the blue lighting. Even amber or red would look good with my black interior, but blue is fine with me. The blue looks clean and cool and would look best with the charcoal interior.

I was (a bit?) stupid when looking at this from EPC. Those illuminated AMG door sills are a retrofit option. The light colour is always blue but they have different colour versions to match the car interior. Like part number B6 602 10 34 as stainless steel/black. Cashmere beige and basalt grey options also available.
A bit of work with the wiring harness installation though.

'09 S63 AMG
From MBUSA, it's looks like there is only 1 option for "illuminated" sills, and that is the AMG style:
Complete option list is here
On another note, what I really want is the front grille with the star - I figure it will really give my car a more aggressive as well as classy look. I actually started a thread about this a while back but no one seemed too interested.....

Illuminated Door Sills available from MB Accessories
Illuminated doorsills (set of 4) are now available via MB Accessories. For MY09, they are even orderable as an option for $950. They say Mercedes-Benz in white illuminated lettering. Your dealer should be able to order these for you 221.

Illuminated Door Sills - MBA Part Numbers
If you are ordering a MY09 S-Class, the easiest and most cost effective way is ordering the VPC installed option (Code 067) with an MSRP of USD 950 for the S-Class. This is for all 4 doors and have Mercedes-Benz illuminated in white lettering.
If you buy at the dealership, the part numbers will be as follows:
B66890176 black
B66890177 beige
B66890178 grey
Keep in mind they will be more expensive from the dealer and you will also have to pay for installation. These should be in the dealer systems for ordering some time in July/August if they are not already.

I called the dealership and have placed the order. They were not sure what this part number stood for. So we will know in a couple of days. Will keep you posted.

Thanks,,I got them from Jerry. Go to www. for my mercedes .com (Spelled out together in your address bar, obviously!)
Mention my name and he'll definetly remember the custom job..It ran $300.00 for the custom graphics and all parts (both sides of course) Like I mentioned he has the ones that say "AMG", "V8" or "Mercedes-Benz" Those were about $180.00 for two. Bit, I wanted to keep the "V8" So I had a custome graphic made to say "Mercedes-Benz V8" ..good luck.
Be well.
