I just my car back from Mercedes and got some 22 inch Rims put on the car. 245 / 30 / 22 on the front and 295 / 25 / 22 on the back.
The back left tire rubs when on the freeway even with only me in the car, eventhough they promised it wouldn't.
They look so nice, but I don't want it to rub, that's just stupid. Anyone know what the back tire sizes should be to prevent this? It used to have 265 19s. I'm not sure why they upped it to 295. It looks like the front tires would fit in the back.
Anyone have any info?
Thanks!

the fenders might have to be rolled ever so slightly... are there cuts on the sidewall of the rear tires? are there marks on the inner fender or the edges of the rear bumper.....
or go one size down in width to a 285/25/22... and that should take care of the problem....

roll the fenders... search youtube for a video rolling fenders

You don't have to roll the fenders, you can keep that tire size.
If you look on the back wheel well, look at the area where the rear fender meets the top corner edge of the bumper there is a small triangle shape that sticks out . 99% of the time that is the spot that is hitting the rear tires. Shave or cut that section and it will eliminate your problem.

Leave it be. You can either cut that little tab in the rear fender well or leave it and let the tire get rid of it. I'm running a 295 on the back and a 255 up front. Rear rubbed at first, but after a while, no more...Originally Posted by Roodog

unless you plan on driving in a dead straight line at <155mph - the car drives MUCH better on the 235 width tyres they originally designed the car with
big wide tyres destroy its ability to go around corners and be agile in anyway - so if you generally drive on roads with corners and the odd road imperfection I not got too big or too wide - note there is far too much rear grip on 235's as it is, so you don't need anymore for traction
if I was a hairdresser and didn't know how to drive, I'd probably have 255s on 20" rims and start saving a few thousands for another set of wheels as they crack each week

And because I've been searching lately. Is it possible somewhere I can look at the specifications of the manufacturer to see what tires, and other consumables (batteries, rims, filters, liquids, etc...) are recommended for these models S500-S550 year 2008 in specific?

USA owners seem to love to support a local planet destroying oil company who has evil intentions
As far as I know the rest of the world use Merc OEM fluids https://operatingfluids.mercedes-benz.com/
either way you should be VERY AWARE these days oils and fluids are not just dead dinosaurs that went through a blender and a cheap coffee filter - theses days there are ridiculous tweaks to additives and to how it may or may not contribute to the health of your vehicle's components
batteries Varta used to be good, as was OEM once upon a time
the rest of the stuff OEM meets what the manufacturer wanted / now want to happen - whereas aftermarket tends to be whatever junk china are seeking to offload today
allow the site to cope with its incompetence and it works https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/221/ on your VIN after 221 is the next three u need
