2007 S600
Deal of the century (2007 S600 only 400 miles)

I know it's a very early build, with maybe a quirk or two, but still this would be a really good deal. A 2007 S600 with only 400 miles on it!

After I looked at it closer, I noticed a few odd things. 1) It doesn't have distronic so therefore you get the nice bullet holes in the bumper, 2) it doesn't have pano roof , and 3) the style of wheels is of the W220 style (which I like better than what came on my 2007).

4) Keep in mind the old headrest style is on this car too. Not that much of a biggie.

5) Also the extra fin on the trunk lid

Also, the lighting of the speedometer is a bluish color as opposed to a grey color on mine. Never seen this before.

2008 S550 with AMG Sport Pkg
A great deal ready to be had. Curious about the low mileage (405 mi) though.

Looks like an amazing deal, although the ride height looks a bit high.

Why only 400 miles - most people put that on during the first two weeks - not two years.

Why did it end up with a wholesaler and not with a dealer - If I were a Mercedes dealer, I would have no trouble selling this one.

If it's too good to be true.....

I get the impression some folks think I want this car. I don't. I just saw it today on eBay and thought I'd post it. It looks like a lost sheep that never was found until now. Some people just have money to burn and buy stuff like this and never drive them. You never know, the person who bought it may have died right after purchasing it (sticker shock I guess) and the family just now got rid of the car. Who knows?

I think the most important factor of all is the build date. Looking at the antenna on the trunk this might be one of the first w221 to come over which makes it almost a 3yr old car. At manheim riverside recently 07's with low teen miles went for about 81k.

Its bare for a 600, no night vision, or pano, I thought this was standard on 600's.
Trumpet if you want the different speedo go into vehicle settings and turn the day/night mode to auto. It will change the color for day or night. Your prob stuck in Night only mode, my car was when I got it.

If I am not mistaken this is one of the first S600s in the Saks 5th avenue christmas catalog back in 2005/2006. That is why you have the dual shark fins and the missing options. Reason being the build spec on those 20 S600s were decided prior to the regular 2007 S600s. A key option missing is rear vented seats.

Ahh, I'll have to check that out. I'll post when I fool around with it and make some discoveries.

I don't think this vehicle is the saks edition based on this post:

Thanks for the link. It is definitely not a Saks 5th.
I think it was a pre-ordered S600 back when they allowed someone to pick and choose what they wanted on it. Not long after that, they apparently just decided to load them up and said screw the ordering system.

Some of the early build S600s did not have all the options. I know they were having major supplier issues with Pano roofs and night view assist systems. So rather than delay them, they issued a credit for standard codes. Most likely if you got a copy of the window sticker it would say "credit for standard codes" and then an amount off the price.

Trumpet what did you mean that these are W220 wheels? These were the standard 18" wheels on the S600 for MY2007. Many of the vehicles were equipped with the 19" multi-spokes however, but they were not standard.

This car is optioned exactly as mine missing the side shades/nightview/distronic/pano roof. On the plus side I have a factory sport pkg. I was suprised how early build this car is. I just checked mine. Wow same month/year. There are a couple customers locally I know here buy everything AMG new and the cars just sit. They give them back to dealers when the next best thing comes out with 2000 miles or less. Still 3 years with 400 miles?? I would prefer at least a few thousand miles if your buying used. But I guess if its still under factory warrantee doesnt matter. I guess its a good deal for a new?? 600.

Seems the W220 S600 s came with those wheels as mine came with the 19" spoke filled wheels (sunburst array of spokes). I didn't like them and bought AMG wheels within 2 or 3 weeks of owning my car.

This may indeed be a great deal. However, I wouldn't let my hope of what I want it to be get in the way of finding out what it truly is. Only 400 miles over three years just doesn't add up. If you are thinking of buying it, I would find out why the vehicle only has 400 miles on it, who the original owner was, and then contact them directly to verify the story.

My guess is that the dealer won't provide the information. No matter what he says, your buying the car as-is. The story he tells you about where it's been or what happened to it won't be in the contract of sale.

That being said - don't see anything wrong with it in the picture. It is sitting high - but the dashboard light indicating the vehicle is raised is on. Seats don't show any wear in the pictures and the configuration matches the early-build date. Paint looks great. Who knows - maybe it is what it seems to be.

The history does not matter as long as there is no salvage and the warranty is intact. The factory warranty can be extended to a total of 7 or 8 years and up to 100k miles, so someone can buy this car and enjoy it for a long time.

If I'm not mistaken, I think this is one of the first U.S bound S600's that Mercedes Benz used for private shows they had for their future S-Class buyers to give them a preview of what they were getting. They also used the cars for their photoshoots for their U.S brochures. The cars were owner by Mercedes-Benz USA and they decided to sell them off. That is why it has such mileage.

Yes, a few odd things: Head rests look ordinary. Car looks like it's on stilts - either that, or the odd looking wheels are giving it a strange lift.
