I have an 07 S550 and am wondering what i can sell it for. I have heard people brag about recently aquiring these cars in the low 50's. Thats super cheap!!!
My stats-

custom interior with redone seats and new headliner
BREMBO Big break kit in the front
&Swiss 22's with SLT
Custom front bumper,fenders,side skirts,rear bumper,roof spoiler,trunk spoiler,
Lowered
custom exhaust to fit in the rear bumper.
I also have flat black vinyl appplied to the roof and part of the hood and grill.

well, from Nada value, clean trade in - $55,075 without all those custom mods you put in. i'd say you can sell at price $60,000?

because for clean retail is $61,625

Nada is the new KBB. its more accurate than KBB, I believe. well, i got $55K for clean trade-in. but then with all that custom mods, i believe it does deserve a few Ks more.

Being a contrarian - why should it deserve more $$$'s? These are purely personal additions that only have small value if the potential buyer shares exactly the same taste. By definition that massively narrows the target buyer pool. In fact I would pay less for such a car than a standard unmodded vehicle. (Especially if I would have to pay to de-modify it) To me it would always feel like I am driving around in someone elses personal dream.

No offense to the OP. Just that from my perspective (and I am sure to many others) as soon as the standard car is heavily modified it moves out of the sphere of consideration.

I think that the customization limits your buyer pool, and often hurts your sales price (sorry). Also, the miles are high, and approaching the 50,000 mile warranty expiration. As a benchmark, last week I purchased a fully loaded 2008 S550 (AMG package, 4Matic, CPO'ed with extended warranty, 19,000 miles) for $65,000. In this market, you will be hard pressed to get $50,000. Good luck!

+1. My dealership told me that when I'm ready for a new car , they prefer that I take the Renntech badging off, so I can only imagine how they would cringe if they saw this modded car, no matter how beautiful it is. You're right Chris! It would make me feel out of place driving someone else's tastes.

-------->Question for the OP: What are you going to replace the Benz with? Personally, I wouldn't trade the car off. Your loss will equal what the car is worth with all of the mods you've done.

I have to copy that. A while ago, I spotted an 07 with 45K miles on autotrader for $58K (dealer price) - and that was a S600..

On different note, I think aftermarket might hurt the resale value. When I was buying my car, dealer had another car, with full Lorinser kit (fender, bumper, door panel....), same mileage & condition as my car. Asking price was $1000 less than my car (with OEM AMG package).

From what the saleman told me, lot of people worry that aftermarket kit mean car have been mess up by third party & vendor, and people don't want to deal with it. Also, it's matter of personal taste.

+1

Investment into a vehicle doesn't directly correlate with the actual value.

Does the ventilated seats still work with the custom wrap? Does the car have P1, P2, P3, distronic, ABC, pano? How was the car lowered? BBK 6 or 8 pot, 355 or 380? What brand of exhaust? Genuine or replica lorinser kit? I think this will generate more interest if you can provide these info.
