What were we talking about again? Oh, yeah...nice cars!
I vote this the nastiest thread I have ever seen on MBWorld.org....and I've been around here for quite a while now. It really belongs in the classified section where these hateful threads are much more common. Too much jealousy and pettiness for my taste! /thread

u know... i really don't care about ur country and the poverty line whatever and the other stuff u wanna share ... having a hollywood movie or a best selling book talking about it won't change the fact that it's a overpopulated stinky country... i don't live in USA but even blind people can tell living in india is a lot worse than living in USA even though the poverty line is so close (if your data are correct)... i would rather be a civilian in any developed countries than a king in india... hopefully i won't have to go there in my life time...
p.s. i don't particularly enjoy being in the same elevator with your countrymen.

2000 Mercedes Benz S500 Designo
Myself also a "kid", spent time convincing myself that Mercedes Benz owners were not ignorant snobs, but rather a fine group who enjoy the thrills of a nice luxury vehicle.
This thread has changed that thought process. I am utterly ashamed at how some of you have posted. Racial slurs on a car forum. Think that one through...

I had not been back to this thread in a while. I see it took a shameful turn, the guy honestly just wanted to share pics of the cars and discuss MB's. Instead he was badgered, insulted, and racial-economic jeers thrown at him.
Damn, I used to think a long time ago this was a classy forum. The ugliness keeps rearing it's head. I have seen this very same thing done to others posting pics of cars, and just get a beat down, and never come back.
These last two years 08-09 have given way to some of the most insulting and crazy threads ever seen. What in the hell is going on?

I wish a mod would delete all the negative talk and then lock the thread.
Funny thing is, I think one of the mods is Indian .. not sure, but I think so.

That is a very nice collection your family has, and I very much like the maroon S-class! I agree with someone else who suggested that a 17-yr old may be better suited for something sporty like the SL or rugged like the ML but you have gracious parents for allowing you use of all the cars. Growing up, my family owned many cars as well, 8-10 at a time, though certainly not of this level. We all shared on occasion but had our "own" cars that we stuck with primarily. It makes life more fun and fulfilling when you share your blessings with those you love!
By the way, do any of them have a designo interior, I enjoy seeing the customized cars.
Enjoy those beautiful vehicles in good health my friend.

The sheer amount of idiocy and bickering in this thread is amazing.
1) The concept of family in Asia is completely different from what we perceive here in the United States and westernized countries. I have a "fleet" of family cars at my disposal here. We "own" them and drive them all (We being my parents and myself). Have I explicitly purchased all these vehicles by myself? No, but the cars are still considered mine (as in my family).
2) Luxury vehicles in Asia are 2x/3x/4x the cost in the US after taxes or VAT. Just to give you a perspective in Korea in 2006, my uncle wanted my mother to import her 2 year old E500 to him. After tallying the import taxes (which include transport, emissions, and even displacement size of motor!...) we realized he would have to pay out of his pocket about 75k, which at the time was a little under the price of a NEW C350. Not to mention that Korea doesnt even sell the V8 E class.... Currently S500s are nearly double what we pay here in the US (currency fluctuation devaluation aside)
3) Those of us who live in the U.S. are fortunate enough that our country is one of the largest consumer markets in the world. We have access to nearly all hot consumer items (luxury vehicles inclusive) at a price of nearly a fraction of the cost. A typical S550 owner in the US may have a minimum modest salary at least 300K USD a year. To drive/operate one of these vehicles in other countries would dictate salaries of more than $1 millions USD a year!
4) I would have expected that the S-Class forum would be more civilized and more mature in internet discourse. Man, I was wrong.

SL550, E550 4-Matic, X5, and others...
Very nice collection you folks have there raunaq. It is amazing at the immaturity of some members on this thread. I have spent time in India on medical mission trips, and had the opportunity to spend time in Delhi. Let me be the first to say that you have a wonderful stable there, ESPECIALLY considering the costs of these vehicles in India.
Yes, I am sure your that your family worked hard to get that fleet, and that you may be a youngin' who is happy to enjoyin it. I can only hope that growing up in this type of luxury motivates you to do the best you can, so you can even outdo this collection!
Ignore all the hating going on this thread. You know that a lot of it is caused by jealousy, which is silly, because jealousy on another person's possessions accomplishes nothing at all. Hopefully you aren't too scared off of MBWorld by any of this. I think this website is an amazing resource, and just going through threads on the various forums have taught me so much (and have influence my car purchase decisions even!).
Best of luck to you.
Cheers,
Mike

It's sad to say that i haven't noticed / seen or read this much hate in the CLK / C-class forums.
