Service A at 2500 miles?
Sorry if this type of question has been asked before, but
My 2009 S550 4Matic is aprx 9 months old, and has only 2500 miles on it.
The Service A light recently went on and I was wondering if I should just reset it, or have the service done?
Also, does anyone know exactly what they do at this service, and the aprx cost?
Thanks

I'd probably go through the easy items yourself and reset.
Check the air filters for cleanliness, make sure the oil is at the right level, do a quick scan for leaks, make sure the serp. belt is fine, etc.
Service A is basically just an oil change.
My dealer charges around $250 for a service A I believe.

Would have svc done; it's ~$250 on a $100K car
Major issue is oil/oil filter change which may be needed, esp if break-in debris/degradation involved (time since build at factory can mean more than minimal miles)
Suspect those who try DIY stuff during warranty to save a few bucks will place warranty at legal risk for lack of recommended maintenance, i.e., quite a few more bucks placed at risk if serious issues arise later

Your dealer should reset it for free. Per the book, you don't need service until 12 months or the mileage limit has been reached. Your dealer should have reset the date when the car was sold.

The FSS is set at the time of manufacture and should have been reset by the dealer at the time of sale.
