And the 2010 has a lot of invisible changes too. Try to locate the second battery to start with. The head unit follows the W204/W212 head unit approach, like integrated BT HF support etc.
1. Around $900 bucks for the lights, then add a rear signal acquisition/activation module (rear SAM) from a 2010 model, SCN coded in a 2010 model first then placed into your 2007-2009 car. Sam can be obtained for about $350-$400. Gonna be tough to find a tech to code the SAM for you in a 2010 S-class, but that's how mine was done.
2. Hardwire the new lights to the old rear SAM - requires wiring changes, should be cheaper. JonMBZ is member here and might have some information where this can be done in SoCal.
Figure $1200 on the low end, $1600 on the high end to get it done...
As for the headlights, I just pulled the trigger on buying the whole plug&play kit from Germany. Total cost is about $4500. Gonna cross my fingers. Should be here in a week or so, we'll see if the guy lives up to expectations....
This might be a bit over your head - seems like you couldn't figure out how to use your foglights! Just playin!!! Good luck figuring this out, if you need some help, private message me.

You can buy prewired taillights from Germany. So you dont have to do anything. For frontlights there is a converter wire set you can buy and you need a new sam.
