60,000 mi S550 Service

Anyone know how much to expect for a 60K service for an S550 4matic? I understand this is a major service and wondering the dealer vs independent pricing out there. I think this is a transmission service, break fluid, oil filter, cabin filter, seals, spark plugs, etc, etc, etc.... Not looking forward to it...

All MB Dealers in my area are running specials on routine service, most have coupons on their Facebook page, etc. Call a couple of them to get best price, if memory serves I received emails for special price of $199 for Service A, and $299 for Service B last week.

They don't really do anything in the A-B service. Mainly oil and filter change.

WOW! That is over the top. If you look at what they do in the service A-B.It's basic things like check, check, and more checking. Did you have to pay extra or was that the set price? The service B around here is about $250-$350 if I remembered correctly.

I think they typically bundle Service B with a brake fluid flush (not sure why they won't just include it there in the first place), so it should come out to $450-550.

When you service at the dealer, always go a la carte for all service items. The A/B packages are all ripoffs, consisting mostly of "inspections" and very little actual maintenance. Know what you car needs at what interval (oil, brakes, fluids, etc) and pay to get those done.

Amen, brother. Another deeply appreciated realist.

I know when owning a complex instrument (S550), there is a price. But, I also know peeing away $'s needlessly is dumb, imo (I work too hard for my money to throw it away simply 'cuz it says MB). Don't be "penny wise/pound foolish", but don't be stupid.

Thanks guys. I also found that the transmission service is at over 75 k and the spark plugs are good to 91k. So I think my next service is oil filter, tire rotation and the basics...
