Are these 22s right tire and offset for S550?
I am a proud owner of my new used S550(will make another post for pictures and details)
Real quick, I wanna thank everyone for sharing all your knowledge on this board. In the last month I have learned so much reading all your posts.
Anyway, found some 22s for my S550. They are the EXE Flair(So many choices and very hard decisions on wheels).
The fronts are 22X9 offset is 32 and tires are 255/30/22
The rear are 22X10.5 offset is 48 and tires are 295/25/22
From what I read on this board is that 245s in the front is the right size. Are the 255s gonna work. I am gonna lower the car about 1.5 inches or so.
Also the offset kind of sounds not right from what I read.
Am I going to be Ok with this set up??
Thanks a lot in advance, and I'll be sure to post pictures.
Richie
Thank you for the reply
The wheels and tires are used but look like they are in great condition. I would have to take them as is with the exact set up I listed in my first post.
Just not sure if I should pull the trigger on these as I don't wanna end up with wheels that don't work for my Car
Here is a pic of the wheels I am looking at.
I believe it did come off of a s550 but not sure if that vehicle was lowered. I will be lowering my car about an inch or so.
I guess I'll just have to drive out there and try them on.
Thank you phatisfy and all
If anyone can know for certain if these wheels with this set up will work for me, that sure would save me a long drive.

Brabus maxed out at 285's on wide rims and perfect offset.
You drop it and try 95's you are going to really push the odds of rubbing.
Besides already ruining your ride quality by going to 22's.
Proceed with caution
BTW there are no 550AMG's someone needs to be told

I know there's no such thing so it's cool.I just like to add the AMG at the end rather than 4Matic.
From what I have read on different forums and such is that the materiel EXE used on these wheels are very high strength and high quality, and to be honest I really like the design more so than any way more expensive wheels. I am sure there are a lot of cheap wheels out there that I wouldn't touch, but if there is a good well made wheel at a good cost, I don't see the reason why not go with them. I personally don't need to spend 5 or 6 K just to feel that I got good wheels on. I mean if I have to I will, but to be honest, I don't see myself getting that much more from a 5 K set of good wheels vs these 1500$ set of good wheels.
Sorry, my knowledge with wheels is limited. Can you please explain to me why you say the wheels I was looking at are Garbage. what is your experience with these wheels? are they gonna brake or bend on me a lot more so than the 5 k set of wheels??

To calculate variance (presuming rim diameters are equal) compare sidewall heights. For example a 245/40 tire has a sidewall height equal to 40% of 245mm.
245mm x .40 = 98mm, x 2 to get the overall impact on diameter. 98mm x 2 = 196mm.
A 275/35 tire would be 275mm x .35 = 96mm x 2 = 192mm.
192/196 = 98%, or a 2% variance. You just keep playing with the sidewall heights to get a combo under 3%.
