I don't believe the latest nav update will update your COMMAND. I believe you need a dealer to update the software to accept bird's eye view etc. Many are shy to do that. I had to have that upgrade done at a dealer on my 2007 4matic. I then could used the nav dvd to upgrade roads, poi's etc. Good luck.

i know the prices will vary but will the dealer charge me the 6hour labor or maybe 1-2 hours ??

and also is there a way to get the video to play when driving also?

Command update must be done with a SDS (Star Diagnostics System) and as far as I know is only available at a dealer.

I have a 2007 CLK and a 2004 SL55 and am looking for the nav update for both. The CLK I believe needs the DVDV 10.0. Not sure about the SL but I know it comes in a set of many discs. I only need the Pacific one for California.

I purchased the 2014 navigation update for my 2007 S550. Problems with the update have now left my entire navigational system useless. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a problem.

These are the details. I purchased the 2014 Navigation DVD for COMMAND from the dealership. They double checked to make sure I could install it without involving the service technician. As the update was running, the power was interrupted and the update aborted. I re-inserted the disc & started the 40 (plus) minute update again. Didn't work. I did it a couple of more times. I finally got the map showing on the screen and it guided me to an address I input. However, after the car was turned off for about 5 minutes or more, the navigation would not come on. Instead it will display "Loading Navigation" but never go any further.

I took it to the dealership. They, of course, said it was my problem since I allowed the original update effort to abort. (I'm too honest!) I'll skip the part where they quote me repair costs and make no promises & suggest I probably need a new hard drive costing thousands!

I finally found a dealership technician to help me. They have run into loading problems with the 2014 disc and were willing to help me. They got the update loaded, the nav map worked - - until the car was turned off for about 5 min. or more. Then it went back to the same message "Loading Navigation".

I am convinced there are "bugs" in the 2014 update. They have had several with problems so far. And that is 1 dealership. I feel that more people will have trouble and finally a fix will be developed. Till then, let me know if it is just my car or not.

My car has been treated like my baby! It has less than 40,000 miles and I keep it as perfect as I can - which was why I bought the 2014 nav update that I don't need since I have an I-phone! I just wanted it kept up-to-date.

P.S. Anyone want the 2014 nav. update cheap???? LOL

 

Did they tell you if your telematics system had been updated? What's the part number on your '14 update?

 

No, they did NOT tell me if my telematics system had been updated.

The part number is O-6-46-0318 with the description NTG3 V13. The numbers on the back of the Harman DVD are BQ 6 46 0318, A221 827 12 65, Version 2014. I could give the bar code if that would help. The front of the DVD case says it is for CL-Class (MY07-MY09), S-Class (MY07-MY09).

That part number does work for the NTG3 system in your 07 S-Class. From past experience most issues in the early build 07 models were resolved with that telematics update. My understanding is you need the STAR service computer at the dealership to perform the update. I heard rumors there was a telematics update CD but didn't find out if it was something commercially available for purchase by customers or if it was reserved for dealership purchase only. I haven't seen that exact issue you're having with your system but hopefully this information will steer you in the correct direction. no pun intended

Wow - sounds somewhat Greek to me, but, are you suggesting that if I purchased the telematics update disc (whose part number you provided), perhaps my problem will be corrected??

What is DAS?

 

Since you purchased navigation database update disc from dealer, have them update Telematics at no cost not only in attempt to resolve your problem but to also allow for additional features provided by the navigation database disc you purchased i.e.: birdseye view (see attachments here https://mbworld.org/forums/5316801-post5.html) DAS is MB diagnostic system.
