Exhaust set up w/sound clip.

And I know people is going to ask for a sound clip. So here I added one.
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/6962145b.mp4

Here's a few pics of my new exhaust set up. Sound is perfect. IMO

•Both resonators deleted.
•replaced with 2 1/4 stainless steel pipes.
•X-pipe(magnaflow)was put where the front resonators were originally.
•Oem mufflers were also replaced with SS mufflers.
•Tips are facelift AMG.

I agree! It sounds aggressive when you give it full throttle. But reasonably quite just like any luxury car at normal driving.

Thanks. My muffler delete is starting to sound too loud from idle - 1,400RPM's in CA traffic...might have to put some mufflers on again.

Installing an X-pipe will lower down the sound. Should take a look into that b4 you put the mufflers back on?

Got some clips of your muffler delete? I can't make my mind what to do - delete the resonators or only mufflers...

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definately try the X-pipe route before putting mufflers back on. Btw love the Flat-Black grill, looks awesome with the white paint.
Will try to record a sound clip and post tomorrow in another thread, don't want to hijack Phatisfy's thread here.

You can just post it here. That way members can find it earlier, incase they want to use it for future references. I don't mind.

I just installed my Lorinser today, the result just like someone told me before, not loud enought (50% I expected) . so I think need to do something with X pipe like you did, but I don't know does it work with lorinser silencer ???

This is my Friend's w221, what he did just bought a S65 AMG muffler which used , lucky him because very hard to find a used one.

It won't be much louder with the x-pipe. If you want it louder. There's a few ways.

Remove all resonators and do a straight pipe like my set up. Or remove the "H" shape resonator near the muffler. And if that's not still enough. Do a straight pipe with x-pipe and remove the mufflers. Or just remove the mufflers and leave everything as is?

By the way. If you listen closely at the end of the rev. There's a weird fluttering sound. I had the exact same issue. And to get rid of that. An X-pipe will solve that problem.

It's in a spray can. All you do is spray it on and it's easy to remove if you decide to take it off later. Search YouTube "plasti dip" and you see many videos on the product in action.

you better only change rear oem mufflers, put just good resonators there ($150 for each) and put tips on them. than add arch pipe (actually it will be H-pipe) between two main pipes after cats, like all AMG exhaust systems have. you will have real muscle exhaust with v8 mercedes engine. leave x-pipe for subaru or lancer.

its e55 or cls55 amg exhaust system on pic, do like here. my wifes cl550 sounds like 65 without expensive and stupid 65 mufflers etc.
