Order of an iridium S350L - AMG pack - panorama

I sign my contract on monday in Belgium.

But I still have one question. Can somebody tell me if you can open / close the side sunshades on a lwb from the front, driverside? If not, I will not go for this option. Or can you control it from the command like the back window shade?

I tested a car with only a sunshade on the back window. LWB is not standard here. The start stop is So the shortcut button will be applied for that.

Car will look like this :

On my 2008 S550 I programmed the * shortcut button on the center console to operate rear screen - it works well, one press for up, second press for down.

For the rear side screens I use the window UP/DOWN buttons on the driver door.
One press on the UP button will raise the window, a second press on UP will raise the screen. Correspondingly, one press on the DOWN button will lower the screen, a second press will lower the window.

The rear side screens can be activated the same way from the door mounted window control buttons in the rear on each side.

One additional thing I like is that the driver can select to operate the driver or passenger seat controls, and the rear passenger can operate the rear or front passenger seat controls. There is a selection button to press, then all the controls work on the selected seat. Especially useful for moving the passenger seat forwards from the rear if you need extra room, or for cleaning. I'm not sure if the rear selection button is only due to my rear seat option package, which gives power reclining, seat heating/cooling and dedicated A/C unit in front console.

I definitely like the side and rear shades, it gives extra privacy like on my MLs but without having a permanent tint.

Enjoy your vehicle!

Thanks.

THE rear screen is standard here on a lwb.

THE Side screans, are they worth an extra 900€?
Is it an option you often use? I'm single, no kids in THE back, professional use only.

Why do you want the LWB version if no-one is in the back?
Do you need so much room? Why not get a CL or the 4-door CLS?

If you use the car for ferrying clients, they probably wouldn't expect the screens. I use them to hide stuff in the back - with a black interior and the screens up it's pretty dark looking in. My passengers like to use them to keep the sun off on longer trips.

900 Euros? It depends on your budget. Mine was certified pre-owned, so it was on the original purchaser's build, but I think would have got them anyway. It might help your resale value, LWB customers probably expect more features for the rear occupants.

By the way, only one rear passenger seat has the front control select button, not the one behind the driver.

I am buying new, i have an iridium v6 e class with panoramic roof.
I like THE contrast of THE roof with THE exterior color.
This S will be his big brother, so with THE Same exterior color And panoramic roof.

We can only order a panoramic roof on a lwb in Belgium.

I am in IT, just drive alone to clients 95% of THE time.

No CLS because I already have an E class.
No CL because it was out of my budget. The S is about 110.000 €, an CL about 155.000€. Nice discount for THE s because of THE new S in 2013.

LWB S-class sounds like the right choice. I'm sure you will love driving it, especially on long trips.
The panoramic roof gives a very attractive color contrast, especially with your color.

Maybe arriving in the S would make the customer think either the IT guy is really successful and must be good, or that I'm paying too much!

Seriously, have fun with your new vehicle.

I like having the side shades.

It gives the car a more darker tinted glass look that you can actually control.
That was one option that was a must for me.

The S will be based on current car:

I think it will be nice couple, when they are both on the driveway.

Thanks.

I always draemed about this car since I am a teenager. Always been a Mercedes lover.

Bought my first Benz when I was 25: c220 2005.
4 years ago I Bought the W211 E280 V6 2008.
Now I am 31 and it's time to finally buy a S-Class. Worked hard and 7/7, it's like a gift to myself for all those lang days.

Tomorrow is the big day. I will finally order my first S.

I order it with the amg sport pack, but when I see you all change your cars without the pack to a S63/S65 look... amazing.

So my question, can you order it with the S63 bumpers already installed?

If not. Is it better that I order one without a 8000$ sport pack and install these bumpers when the car is delivered?

That depends if you want to change the AMG wheels to something more fancy ..or you will still spend the same money, then having to paint the kit , less hassle etc.if that makes sense.
I would stick to original sports pack , if I had the choice..

On my offer : AMG sport pack in Belgium comes with 19" - 5 spoke rims

I upgraded to the 20" 10 spoke amg rims (as in the picture on top)

But all the AMG stuff comes at a totall cost of around 12.000 euro

Your E looks incredible and the S will be even sleeker. Good choice with the color by the way. Silver with the black Pan. roof IMHO is the best color combination to get. It makes it look like the front and read windscreens are all connected. Looks really elegant!

Iridium is an easy color if you don't like cleaning THE car every week.

I have no rear entertainment package, no memory function And no massage function in THE rear.

I have heated And adjustable seats in THE rear.

My question: in Some pictures on THE net THE rear armrest is full leather And sometimes it has a wood panel ( even without buttons)

You always have this wood panel with massage function in THE rear.

When do you have THE wood panel? Or is it standard on LWB?
