Upgraded my lighting
It's amazing how changing a few things on the car can make a significant change for the better...just some pics
I have a stock s550 non sport (will do s63 conversion next year)
- LED rear lights facelift did a few months ago..totally changed the way the car looked
got them on ebay for around 400
- Just changed the license plate lights to LED..made the car look like a late model car (compare to my signature picture below)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-6000K-W...21053417282%26
- Changed stock lights to 8000k lights..it made my lights really white but not blue..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251149805888...84.m1439.l2649
- Changed my fogs to white bulbs (non -led), what a difference from the stock yellows
I am not affiliated with any of the ebay merchants..
Enjoy the pics...

NICE! i have the same exact license plate lights. They look sick at night really really does update it like you guys mentioned. Thanks for the link John i was quoted 300 from a shop for the headlights and fogs. Thanks to you I'm going to do it all myself for around 100 ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Next all you have to do is switch out those yellow parking lights, but seems like you already got that covered

Hey guys,
I took a video last night of the new lights and uploaded it to my youtube account. See here. Also you can see my video on motion working although the car is parked though![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

It was kinda of pain but here is what I can tell you.
- The lights have to be installed under the front wheel wells (that's how I did it). So you have to remove part of the wheel well.
- Decide what side you're going to do first. Let's start off on the right side.
- If you're car is lowered, raise the suspension, you don't need to remove the wheel. Since you're doing the right side, you need to turn the wheel all the way to the right like you're turning right. That will position the wheel in the direction where you have space to work.
- Under the wheel well, there are three push pin screws. Take a screw driver to remove the pin only. Pry that off..then remove the screw part second. Don't attempt to remove both...it won't work.
- Once you removed the three screw open up the wheel well, look up and you'll see the back of the unit and you'll see a big round cap that covers the back of the light. Remove that by a simple turn.
- Then you'll see the back of the light, remove the two clips that hold it together...note that this space is gonna be tight...so remove it carefully! You can choose to unplug the light harness before you remove the clips..it's up to you..I removed the clips first took the light off and then removed the harness to the light..again it's really tight!! So becareful and take your time..you can easily bang the bulb elsewhere and break it
- Once you got the light off...just reverse the procedures..keep in mind that you kinda have to push the wheel well down so that there is clearance for you to remove the bulb..it helps if someone else helps you hold it in place and use a flash light..I did it at night with a light..it was hard for the first one..but the 2nd one took me less then 2 minutes to do since I know what to expect..
Disclaimer: Proceed at your own risk...and becareful..i am sure that you can remove the lights entirely to do it but I didn't go that route..
Also to change the other bulbs it's all available once you remove the wheels wells.
To do the left side make sure you turn your whee to the left. I learned by mistake that if you turn the wheel the opposite direction you have less room to move..that was my take of it.
good luck!

That really does look good. I upgraded my headlights, foglights, and parking lights but after seeing your pictures I now need to get the license plate lights replaced as well. I didn't realize how much of a difference that'd make.

Thanks guys...appreciate the feedback..
In case you guys want to do this...here is a bulb chart for our car (found my manual).
This was a cheap refresh and big impact upgrade to my car..
I might even consider changing the bulb that lights up when I turn..it's so yellow compared to the 8000K when it comes on during a turn![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I purchased these lights for my corners yellow lights.
When I get them I will post a picture showing the results.

Hi every1
How the heck do I change out the license plate lights? I got to the lights and all but how do I get the original housing out?
Question 2 - how do I get access to the headlight to change out the yellowish white bulb side bulb? Pitched the led replacement but can't access it.
Thank you

The new LEDS license lights are a complete replacement of bulb and the entire housing.
- You need to take the trunk liner off..it's held together by push pins.
- Once you take off the trunk liner there are two screws behind next to the license lights on the inside...you need a short screw driver to take them off..
- Once you take off the two screws, close the trunk and remove the plate above the license plate. DON"T attempt to pry off the plate without removing the screws, you will break that plate!
- now you can change the lights out.
Hard to explain but follow this and you should be golden.
Get the lights from this guy bmwled..they are the cheapest that I found and the quality is amazing!

About question # 2 , I believe you have to go under your wheel well to take it off...i think I posted up how to remove it in this thread..see above.. I'm getting those lights probably next week..i'll post up on how to do it with photos...
