How many miles are too many for S600? tough decision.

Im looking at Carmax S600s... what would you guys say is the upper limit of an 2007 S600 that you would purchase? They seems to be around 70,000 miles. I imagine a warranty would run say $3500? Total cost of the vehicles would end up being about $47,000, plus snow tires, for a 70,000 mile 2007 S600 (plus tax).

Is that too high for the car (cost and miles)? I know its right around KBB values, but thats kind of meaningless.

In 2 years it will be a 100,000 mile 8 year old vehicle, Id expect a value of less than $23-25,000. thats about $24,000 over 2 years (up to 27000 when you add tax). Thats equal to a lease of $1000/month if I keep the car for just 2 years, best case.

Trying to determine if the car would be worth $1000-1200/mo depreciation (plus interest)... $1000/month can get a loaded new A6 Prestige with every option available with cash left over! Loaded new (albeit overpriced) A6 but fun to drive, brand new, loaded with many features like adaptive cruise, night vision, etc... vs 6 year old absolute ultimate sedan. Tough decision indeed. Leaning towards the S600 for the serenity of it.

Anyone here have an 07/08 S600 with 100,000 miles?

Then why are you looking at S600? If you wonna stay in a W221 for less money then get a lower engine model or pay similar and get one less older.

I would only look at S600 if you needed the V12TT. Then that car lives alone in its class and is worth every penny.

I have an 04 S600 with Fidelity warranty good until 13, and with a Tune my car is scary fast.

Also what is scary is how much warranty covered in repairs, around $25K so far. If you are looking into getting an S600, get one CPO and then get the Fidelity warranty. In the end the warranty will pay for itself on this car, but you will enjoy the S600 for years to come.

I want it loaded to the gills. As in every single option. . Damn near impossible to find an s550 like that. Id actually prefer an s550 4matic loaded to the max but cant find one like that, and i bet it costs more if i do find one.

What about an extended warranty but non CPO. Will likely get from carmax if i do get it.

Sorry, meant to say that my warranty is until 13. Just fixed that.

I would get CPO, that way you are still within MB warranty. That way you can get the best warranty through MB dealer - Fidelity which covers everything that you would need on the S600 and you would take your car to an MB dealer for repairs. S600 can get quite tricky when it comes to determine the source of problems.

I would stay away from any other warranty, because if you get a $10K bill, it may not be covered.

You can just add the missing options. The electronic ones are so easy.
