S400 Hybrid AC question
I just purchased a new S400 Hybrid and I have a few questions:
First, is it possible to disable the Stop and Start function? It's good when you make intermittent stops, but it's horrible in traffic jams.
Second, when I turn off the Climate Control or AC from time to time, it will turn off for a few seconds, and then automatically turns back on. Is this normal behavior? If so, can I override this?

In the 2013 US owner's manual it says that there are at least two ways to disable it...at least temporarily. Didn't read carefully or fully so I don't know if there's a way to disable it permanently.And it seems possible that in other countries/regions it might not be possible thanks,perhaps,to laws in force.

I do not see these as problems or issues. It appears that this is how the car was designed to operate in the OPs home market. If the OP cannot find the answers in the manual, then a quick call or visit to any dealership should provide the answer to the proper funtion (not problem) with the OPs car. These symptoms should have been readily apparent even during the most cursory of test drives.

2012 Mercedes S 400 hybrid
s400 hybrid AC Question
My 2012 Mercedes S400 has the same problem -- which first arose about 9 months after I'd purchased the vehicle. I took the vehicle in to the dealership from which I purchased it, and after they examined it -- the service manager advised that they thought it might be related to keeping the hybrid battery cool. Nothing was done to fix the problem. In the summertime the problem wasn't too annoying -- but in the winter (when it is cold outside) having the AC turn on when the outside temperature is 48 degrees does NOT make for the ultimate driving experience.
When I took my car in for its next regular service, I mentioned the problem again--commenting that a car costing in excess of $100,000 should not do this.
In April,2013,when I picked the vehicle up from that service, I was told that the problem related to a "glitch" in the software -- which they were working on, and would let me know when it could be fixed. I was also told that mine was the only vehicle that experienced the problem at that dealership. Since few of this model are sold, perhaps MB is just waiting for the purchasers to learn to live with this.

In the W221 the default for the aircon is on :temperature is set (as you know )by Comand and checked by a number of sensors.
If the temperature in the car does not match what you have set in Comand then that is an issue.I would double-check myself with a themometer and see what happens.
If you struggle to get a serious solution from the dealership , they either don't care or have not got the resources to solve your issue..then I would escalate to MBUSA or the factory in Germany..

S400 Air conditioning issue
I have this issue with the AC of my S400. I followed the instructions in the manual, no use, it keeps switching on automatically. Please if somebody has a solution, or a way to do it, let me know.

After waiting for notification promised by the SERVICE personnel at the dealership from which I purchased my 2012 400S, I contacted the SALES PERSON from whom I'd ordered the vehicle. I included the information from the 6/13/2013 response in this thread with the bulletin number information. That did the trick. I received a response the same day and the appointment for the necessary software update was scheduled. The problem was solved in 2 hours. The software update IS NOW AVAILABLE.
Sorry to say, if I'd continued to wait for the service personnel to contact me (as he had promised when he said he would keep an eye out for the necessary update) I am certain it would never be fixed. It wasn't his priority (or, I guess, his concern.)
