Smartkey Starter remote start for S Class!
Just showing off some demo video of our new Smartkey Starter for the S and CL (W221 and W216 chassis).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXD19fdwsHo
It provides all the standard remote start features: run timer. user verification, engine rpm check, vehicle status check, starts through the panic button on the factory keyfob and best of all plug-and-play... no cutting or splicing of the wiring in the vehicle. Works on any W221 or W216 with the smartkey (aka laser key) and works on bothe Keyless-Go and non Keyless-Go vehicles.
Testing is almost done and we will have them available shortly...

We don't have the panic button in the UK. Would like to have that modification.

So I bought a used 2012 GL 350 with one of these units installed in the vehicle. I didn't use it and the installer had used the pigtail for the trailer brake controller as a power and ground source. I need that pigtail since I do a lot of towing and so I removed the remote starter from the vehicle as stated below. I figured that I would sell it to somebody here on the forums that could use it...I bet I could install one in about 30 minutes.
Now my Keyless Go and the Remote Entry (where you touch the door handle) are both inoperative. I'm sure if I take it to the dealer I'm going to be out of luck..great. It's still under warranty but the system was installed at a Benz dealer and it's in the records. I'm hoping that this is a simple coding problem and won't cost me more than an hour or two of labor.
