help- just bought a preowned S550 and it died on me
Let us know what it turns out to be for sure.
If it sounds like a BIG job then personally I would question about that car...and ask for another deal on another vehicle.
They should work with you on it...just raise hell with management if needed.
good luck

Lemon law doesn't work in this instance. The car is used.
Most buyers remorse periods are 3 days I believe.

Next day: it's dead. No response, nothing !!. And since I parked so close to the wall (big car) both front and side of the car, it was almost impossible to approach & access the engine bay to work on it.
Cadillac sent in a person. At first we tried to jump the battery cable. Didn't work either. I was worry & frustrated a bit. 1 day car that dead. The though of pushing (or pulling) the car out of the garage manually to get it onto the flatbed was very discouraging.
But then we troubleshoot further and found that the battery (POS Delco) was simply dead, so recharge wouldnt work. Dealer offer to tow the car to dealer for further analysis & repair. But I simply bought an Optima Red battery and everything back to working.
Since then, I hardly have any problem with the truck in the last 4 years.

Just because the vehicle is $100K new, it is still a man made object and they do not last for ever no matter how much you pay for it.
If you want a car not to brake, get something that has an engine and wheels and youll have less issues. the more the car offers, the more items there are to brake.
Its always the folks that have issues that scream the loudest. All i heard was negative feedback about W220 and W221 when i was shopping, until i realized the people screaming are the people would have been perfectly happy with a Civic as long as it does not brake and because they do not understand what this type of a car has to offer beyond getting them from point a to point b. if you want everything this car offers you have to be able to handle the downside to owning it.
I had my S500 until it hit 92K miles and the car had ZERO issues when i traded it in. My S550 now has 65K on it and the only issue the car had was a fuel pump which took a month to find the issue and fix first time and two weeks less than a month after they supposedly fixed it the first time. to me thats a small price to pay compared to how much i enjoy driving this car.
Owning a benz, bmw, bentley or what have you without a warranty is simply unwise.
These cars are a little bit more complicated than a Chevy Nova and do take longer and more expensive to repair. It comes with the territory.
