W221 / M275 / V12 Ticking Noise...
I just got a 2007 W221 with the M275 engine / 75,000 miles. I checked the car out and and had the Benz dealer in Minneapolis do the same. Either we both completely missed the tick or it started shortly after I got the car.
The car sat for most of 2013 on the dealers lot not driven more than 100 miles in 7 months.
First thing I did was an oil change with Mobil 1 0w40. No dice, noise still present. I added SeaFoam and was briefly able to stop the tick but it came back.
The tick increases with RPM. Happens hot or cold.
I changed the oil after 100 miles of SeaFoam and went to Pennzoil 5w40 Ultra Euro. No dice, noise still present.
Added Kreen Engine Oil treatment to the oil and have put about 300 miles on the car to no avail.
My Benz dealer doesn't have anyone who has been inside the M275 engine, I'd like to find a dealer or independent who has some experience with this engine. I'm willing to travel anywhere in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Illinois.
Does anyone have input / suggestions? I assume lifter noise is the logical place to be thinking I have a problem, thoughts?
Thank you.

I'll book an appointment with the dealer and see where it goes.
I'd be thrilled beyond polite words to not have to start ripping into this engine.
Have a good night.

The intensity? of the sound increases and decreases with rpm.
Sound comes from the right side bottom (Near V12 logo on the fender) and also from behind the engine with the hood open. It's barely evident from the left side and not evident when the hood is closed.
Although when the hood is closed, you can hear it coming from underneath the right side of the car if it's parked in a garage, in fact that's where I recorded the sound on my phone.
The wall next to the car is tiled so it reflects the sound more. Sound recorded and attached.
The car has 15k miles on it.

Did you manage to get to the bottom of your ticking noise?
Not yet, I'm still hearing it and it hasn't gotten worse but I haven't had the time to take it in to the Stealership yet. I'm planning to take it in this week and will post an update here.
