Thanks man.

I have always been a GM guy mostly, I always liked all kinds of cars, but I bought GM 99% of the time. Had, in chronological order:

1984 Camaro Z28 - Flowmaster, intake, filter, custom painted it Indigo Blue Metallic, chromed out engine, mostly bling.
1984 Monte Carlo SS - TH400 swap/ headers/ flowmasters
2001 GMC Sierra SLT RCSWB 5.3 in charcoal grey metallic. Just flowmasters and a heavy right foot lol.
2006 Silverado RCSWB in red. V6. Great truck. Wasnt too bad on gas.
1999 Camaro Z28 Hardtop w/ a built 6 speed manual, heads cam, suspension, anything they sold I tried on that car. Learned to TUNE on this 1.
2004 GTO A4 in black with the red interior, which just had boltons and a tune.
1996 Camaro Z28 A4 - White, C6 rims, (P.O.S.) Glad I traded it for that 2001 Dakota.
2005 Chevy Cobalt 4dr, red, auto, gas saver.
2010 Colorado Crew Cab with a 5.3L V8, 4x4, and an automatic 4 speed. Lifted, fender flares, full exhaust, tune
2004 GTO M6 in Blue, with black interior, and put heads/cam/intake/suspension/tune
2007 Chevy Cobalt SS Coupe, silver, black int, Auto, nice car for the money. Bought it salvage for almost nothing.
2005 GMC Canyon Ext Cab. 2.8L 4 cyl, Auto. Same MPG as the v12 TT in the S600. Wtf?

I tried Ford twice. 1st a Contour, which I literally left in the middle of the road in Austin, TX, and a 2004 SVT Cobra convertible, triple black.

I tried Nissan three times. 1992 Maxima(middle school, never had a problem), 2003 Altima(never had a problem), and a 1997 Maxima(Beater for 3 months. Sucked Bad, but good car for $1300)

I tried BMW twice. 2001 325ci and 2005 330i 4dr. Both great cars, never had a single problem. Nvm the 325Ci had to have the top motor replaced once I think...but still.

I had two Dodges for a short time, a 2005 SRT4 in red, and a 2001 Dakota w/ 4.7L V8, single cab... and did not like it one bit. I never really liked them much anyways.

So I figured why not give MB a go? At first I was looking at S550's, but I said -F it I know myself, Im going to want power later again, I like fast cars. So get a V12.

So here I am..lol

Wow. I was contemplating buying that exact S600 but the interior turned me away (I've owned a couple of beige interior colored cars and I'm wanting something darker). Hope you have fun with your new ride!

Thanks man. Im hoping I will love it. Maybe when I see it in person itll grow on me.

but yeah, Im not 100% on the interior, but its better than grey, and the cars got all the options I want, and blue was my 3rd choice. I prefer, 1. white 2. grey/silvers 3. blue 4. black.

So blue was already on my radar. Blue is one of the few colors that beige(in my opinion) goes OK with. I've had sooo many black interiors already, I decided to try the peanut butter interior lol.

My 99 Z28 was pewter lol. its the ugliest color on that car if you look at them online. In person though, it had a lot of depth, and sparkle. Sometimes it looked so many different colors. I had tickets showing my car was silver, brown, and green(?). lol

Im rambling again, which I often do when talking about cars lol....

Nice choice...just make sure you do the software updates like the DVD function and eliminate the annoying endless chime on startup and new nav updates with Birdseye view. I'm sure you can find many other details on this forum.

Lol, yeah ..live and learn i guess. I just decided to just say screw it and get what i want if at all possible from now on..

Because..like you said, its my money, and i work very hard for it..so I should be comfortable, happy, entertained!

AH its not even here and the mod bugs bitten hard. Heat exchangers, scorpion intake, killer chiller, meziere h/e pump, tranny cooler, upgraded turbos, tune, meth, DANG IT here we go again...lol.. only the parts are wayyy more expensive lol. Im venturing into uncharted territory here.

Blowing $10K in parts on an 04 GTO is a whole lot more different than $10K in stuff on an S600.

LSx tune - $500 ($100 for me, since I tunem anyways). Can retune easily(free retunes btw). Can have many tunes ready to swap in minutes.

S600 tune = $1500-$3500. Cant really switch tunes easily. Hardly anyone does tunes onem anyways.

So that kinda makes it suck *****. Im willing to take it on though. Usually I would buy one thing, retune, buy a couple other things, retune...and so forth, until the cars got all the power I want(can stand?) at the time...

Doing it like this spreads the cost out a lot. Like pay-as-you go.

With this benz, it looks like I can either
(A) get it dyno tuned once I install everything. At the very end.
(B) pay for multiple tunes at a couple stages.

Im just not going to pay for more than one tune if its going to be anything like $1500, or more. I tune, and I just cant see it.

So looks like Id just wait and save up a big wad, and mod it all at once, like you really should, then take it to get dyno tuned, and be done. And have not paid extra geting retunes etc.

Maybe my logic is wrong, but I havent seen anywhere that offers the ability to switch between tunes at all. This would keep me from running like 100 octane/Meth tune a few times for fun just to see...and then switching back to 93 when the tank runs out. So there's no middle. I can either have a tune for everyday driving, or everyday racing ...but not both. LOL..that kinda sucks. You can get sooo much more power-per-$ when you can tune for more octane.

I really, really wish I could just tune it myself :/ Is this possible? What software are these guys using? Nothing available to us?

I mean, yeah you dont HAVE to keep retuning..but as a tuner myelf....for SURE.. having your car tuned to YOUR elevation, and YOUR exact mods.. is ALWAYS a very significant improvement over not retuning. As expensive as the parts are, Id rather just dog the heck out of it and know that im not running too much timing or too little fuel, but not leaving anything on the table, either.

Well I just saw that Speedriven has a thing called a "block tuner"

http://speedriven.com/products_parts.html

in combination with the tune you buy, im assuming, you can switch to stock and back to tuned. I wonder, if instead, you can switch between tuned, and tuned-to-the-max? Imma ask.

btw, I asked, and speedriven's block tuner does allow you to switch tunes.

But Eurocharged has something too, and its on sale! Dangit! Its called the MyGenius.

I want to go dyno it first to get a baseline, and just for fun too. Thankfully we have a couple dynos in town now. Used to be there wasnt.
